I've been "trying" to play this tune for a while now. The key of D part is from tab, the key of G part is my own arrangement. After about the 4th take I decided to leave all the mistakes in.

A few hiccups but here is my 2nd attempt at recording. My son came in as I was recording and I desperately pulled some 'be quiet' faces..oh the trials of a recording star! Anyway, I love this tune and one day I hope to play it properly.

gDGBD for some up the neck clawhammer

aDADE, from Cyril Stinnett's (fiddle) version. Once through slowly in the style of a traditional (dotted rhythm) hornpipe, then through twice as a reel. See tabs on my BHO page for a tab of this version and for Bob Walters' version.

This recording, played by my friend Chuck Middleton on his Chuck Lee custom openback banjo outfitted with a printed circuit board Pete Seeger style bridge, was on my Fostex MR-8 multi-track recorder, using a Digital Reference voice microphone.

From an edition I'm puuting to together for Mel Bay called The Early Irish-American Banjo. Will include tab.

My contribution to the BHO "tune of the week" for 9/26/09. This was recorded in 1998 by Wry Whiskey, a trio I was in then with Brian Clancey on guitar and Tom Speth on bass. The banjo is my semi-fretless Paramount, tuned to open D (aDF#AD).

Key of D. Double D tuning. Wildwood

My version of this traditional tune combining melodic style and Scruggs style. My wife, Lynn, is on bass and I'm on banjo and guitar.
