What's up beautiful 99%-ers!

This is a special 'micro-sode' edition of the BNP. I don't have a ton of time today because I gotta scamper off to work soon, but I had to voice my thoughts regarding the medicinal benefits of tonic water for fighting off Covid-19 (and malaria to boot!), as well as the ugly truth behind this supposed "rescue package" our dear leaders in D.C have put together in response to the current national and global health and economic crisis.

This "stimulus" is nothing but a 2nd, vastly more massive edition of the 2009 corporate bank bailout, signifying a generational economic realignment and redistribution of wealth away from working class people and into the pockets of the oligarchic ruling class. We mustn't let fear and our fight or flight response blind us to the grim reality of this bill. We need to educate one another and resist this further consolidation of wealth by the 1%. We need to support each other, and especially our brothers and sisters who work cash jobs and are not eligible for unemployment benefits.

This bill is also not a $2.2T dollar package as the corporate media is telling us. It's a $10T giveaway. The Fed is printing $4 Trillion dollars for "loans" to businesses and banks (who are NOT legally bound to actually re-lend to working people, and in fact if 2009 is any indication, largely won't) and is printing a further $4 Trillion dollars for the insurance industry (must be nice to be the insurance industry). Meanwhile, the working class gets a paltry one time payment of $1200 sometime in May, which doesn't even cover people's gentrified rent for April. The immiseration of the working class as a result of this biological health crisis cannot be overstated. Workers needs universal basic income for the duration of this crisis. A one-time payment of $1200 is laughably inadequate.

So get your yellow vests ready friends. We will need to make our demands in the street once this health crisis is over. I'll be giving away free Dadaist paintings for every surveillance drone that's disabled.

What's up strong, beautiful people!

The sun continues to rise and set. The moon continues to wax and wane. The sparrows continue to dart upon the wind catching bugs. And the BNP continues to post new eps for you, my beloved listeners.

This solo episode is a series of vignettes that track the current glitches in the reality simulation, and attempt to make some sense of, or at least articulate, where we stand in the collective now.

I also lay out the latest happenings in the Democratic Primary "race," (see: coup). We explore the man behind the curtain known as South Carolinian hyper-neoliberal fixture of pharmaceutic plenty, the man whose vaunted quadrennial endorsement dictates the narrative around the Democratic Party, all from his seat in a deep red state best known for its invasive kudzu problem, 14 term Congressman Jim Clyburn.

Finally, I speak from my heart and from my gut about trusting the strength and tenacity in ourselves and in each other, and the importance of enlisting help from the angelic forces all around us. Rethink your personal cosmology around angels. They aren't necessarily the winged cherubs with the weird cheeks you saw in Art History class. Rather, you could think of them as primordial, foundational, and omnipresent systems of energy committed to a Universe that expands not just outward into the void, but that grows with the fractal complexity of tree roots and ant tunnels, and which organizes itself around Justice, Beauty, Fortitude and Love.

I send my love and fortitude outwards to you, fellow stellar traveler, wherever you may listen across the vast expanse of space and time.

What's up all you fabulous ruffians and trend-setting dandies!

This episode is the 2nd installment in the BNP's Current Events Kernel series. We explore the shady past of Attorney General William Barr in light of his recent threat of "sweeping crackdowns" and "significant escalation" against sanctuary cities for undocumented migrants living in the U.S.

We then take a deeper look at "interim" Venezuelan President Juan Guaido, whom the U.S. State Department and their Intelligence Agency federales just helped install via military coup, in order to replace democratically elected Socialist president Niklas Maduro. Maduro is the successor to Democratic Socialist president Hugo Chavez, and was in the midst of overseeing a continuation of the wildly successful democratic socialist policies Chavez had spearheaded, which have lifted millions of Venezuelans from grinding poverty to the middle class.

Finally, I discuss the current historical moment we find ourselves in the United States, as we bear witness in real time to the nascent rise of a legitimate Populist Movement and domestic class struggle here at home, and what it would mean for the millions of people negatively impacted by American Imperialism around the globe.

This is the first installment of what will be periodic "current events consolidation" mini-sodes. These eps are gonna be the place where I break down important stories in plain english, for busy people who may not have time to wade through all the contradictory and media-spun articles.

This installment elucidates the very strange goings on at this last Iowa caucus- a sobering harbinger for what's at stake in the 2020 democratic primary race and the coming general election.

WARNING: This mini-sode discusses politics.

And for transparency's sake, I should state my personal bias as a supporter of the Bernie Sanders campaign who will be canvassing for him in Nevada.

However, anyone who has a vested interest in our democracy being a, you know, "democracy," should listen to this ep and hold the DNC's feet to the fire as this primary race moves forward. We must demand fair elections.

Whats up beautiful people! 

This episode is a quilted menagerie of brain tidbits and mind morsels. 

We begin by journeying back to 1967 for an iconic speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community. This is not the speech you heard in school. Dr. King speaks frankly and powerfully about class struggle and the need to radically restructure American society, including redistribution of wealth.

Following the speech we take a look at Lebanese-American writer and visual artist Khalil Gibran, and then go for a visit with the founder of Portland Peppermills, Jonathan Glowacki, for a conversation about framing one's own subconscious architecture for optimum manifestation efficiency. What's good beautiful humans!

I'm very excited to share this mind-melter of an episode with you all! My guest this week is Dr. David Glowacki: scientist, artist and cultural theorist. Dr. Glowacki has appointments as a Research Fellow at the Royal Society scientific academy in the UK and as a Philip Leverhulme Fellow at the University of Bristol.

Dr. Glowacki was so gracious to come on the BNP and talk to us about his current work creating virtual reality environments in order to induce mystical-like experiences similar to what one experiences on the psychedelic journey, for the purpose of healing and treating depression, addiction and PTSD.

Dr. Glowacki heads up "an eclectic academic research group called the ‘Intangible Realities Laboratory’ (IRL), which is joint between the Centre for Computational Chemistry and the Department of Computer Science." He has "published in several domains: non-equilibrium molecular physics, classical & quantum dynamics, biochemistry, digital aesthetics, interactive art, human-computer interaction, high-performance computing & algorithm development, evolutionary algorithms, religion & power, cultural theory, atmospheric physics, optics, and scientific instrument development."

Hei kaunis maailma! (That's Finnish for "Hello beautiful world!")

Happy New Year everyone! It's 2020: the year of clarity and perfect vision. "Hindsight is 2020." May we all realize our dreams and accomplish our goals this year with copacetic efficacy, for the benefit of humanity and the planet. Gaia needs each one of us to show up with the real real and utilize our unique gifts to midwife in the new planetary era of collaboration over competition, cooperation over domination. It's time, let's make it happen!

This episode, the first of the New Year, it's my honor and privilege to introduce you all to the incomparable Kari Tauring. Kari is a Nordic folk musician, Runic scholar (yay!), cultural educator, and spiritual leader living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kari is a völva, or "staff carrying woman" in the Old Norse language. The völva carries the staff of history and culture for her people, and Kari does this with rare grace and brilliance.

Völva Stav, which literally means “Staff Carrying Woman’s Staff," is Kari's very own "unique system of sacred body geometry, alignment with Norse cosmology, toning, runes, and rhythms used for healing inherited family and cultural dysfunctions. It honors family and ancestors in a Nordic way and creates pathways for physical, metaphysical, and cultural change."

Kari is so generous to have come on Barbarian Noetics and educate us about Nordic culture and history, the symbology and significance of the Runic alphabet (Elder Futhark), and the deep meaning of embracing one's own öorlog, meaning "primal law," and the "summation of an individual human inheritance (physical, spiritual, ancestral, environmental and cultural)." Kari speaks about her Nordic roots, but her message of honoring one's ancestral inheritance is universal, and so important for each of us to remember and draw strength from during this time of changes on Mother Earth.

Beautiful radiant world!

What's crack-a-lackin? This episode it's my absolute pleasure to introduce y'all to an amazing yoga instructor, healer, shamaness, friend, and person- the fantabulous Dani Solomon. I met Dani through taking her dynamic, fun and deeply healing hot yoga classes in Phoenix, and ever since that first class I've wanted to interview her for the pod. So this was a really fun and exciting conversation for me, and I'm so glad I can share it with the world.

Dani now teaches hot yoga in N. Scottsdale, and is the creator of Hot Yoga Euphoria (http://hotyogaeuphoria.com/), a periodic donation-based hot yoga extravaganza fundraiser benefitting The Celiac Disease Foundation and The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center. Stay tuned for the next event, which Dani will post on the website.

In this episode, Dani and I riff about yoga (of course), her journey to becoming an instructor, mystical experiences, kundalini spine tingles (yummm), parenting in the modern age and more. Dani also opens up about her three(!) near death experiences and how they've informed her evolution as a person, mystic, Yogini and teacher.

Hello beautiful world!

Episode 28 of Barbarian Noetics features Terry FitzPatrick, Communications and Advocacy Director for Free the Slaves. Free the Slaves is an international NGO and lobby group dedicated to ending modern slavery. The mission of Free the Slaves is to liberate slaves across the globe and work to end conditions that lead to slavery.

I've been hugely impressed by the work being done at Free the Slaves, and Terry FitzPatrick was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to come on Barbarian Noetics and educate us about the multi-faceted problem of modern slavery, and to delve into the techniques and practices utilized by Free the Slaves to liberate slaves and end modern slavery once and for all.

This is a heartbreaking problem plaguing our world. However, there is hope. Talking to Terry filled me with optimism that there are incredibly smart, resourceful and dedicated people the world over working to end this crisis.
