Hello, Hefka Le Nekopunk hereย ! But for the OST Comp Jam 8, I am dropping the nekomimi and the Punk attitude. My first intention was to make something into my usual highly-aggressive style, but it would have turned completely uncoherent with both the themes of the game jam, cause I chose both themes. The theme is ยซย One summer nightย ยป and the picture looks pretty something related to Lo-Fi. That means I tried to make calm chiptune for once!
So, exit the blast-beats (excepted on "Kesรคsota", which is a battle theme), Iโm lowering the BPM and trying to make something calm. Actually, this project is kinda relatable to what is happening in real life. Iโm getting sick of the surrounding negativity everywhere and I was wondering if video games could be used as a therapy against anxiety. Summer night have to be calm and peaceful, and the fact we are talking about ยซย ONEย ยป summer night makes me think this night has to be special. I wanted this night to be a processus of self-heal.
Of course, no one said we can heal from whatever makes you sick so easily, so itโs not all about Lo-Fi. A 3/4 waltz on ยซย En attendant lโauroreย ยป, an aggressive reggae beat on ยซย Interlude 1ย ยป, an exotic scale here, a chromatic one thereโฆ Sometimes the tempo is rising so you can breathe peacefully when it slow down. Like the sea, itโs not a flat line. Tomorrow the tempest will be a long-gone remembrance.
What you can listen is the non-loopable versions. These are free and you may use them if you credit me as ยซย Hefka Le Nekopunkย ยป. A link to my main website (hefka-games.fr) would be appreciated but not required.
