Marvel and DC Comics are collaborating on a new seven-issue crossover miniseries titled Batman/Deadpool, with the first issue scheduled for release on July 31, 2024. The series is written by Chip Zdarsky, with art by Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira.
The plot begins within DC's "Absolute Power" event. Amanda Waller and her "Trinity of Evil" have stolen a powerful artifact called the Matrix of Leadership, which can brainwash metahumans. Deadpool is hired to steal it back, which brings him into direct conflict with Batman, who is also trying to stop Waller. The series is described as a "zany and action-packed" adventure, focusing on the comedic clash between Batman's serious demeanor and Deadpool's chaotic, fourth-wall-breaking style.
A major highlight of the release is the large number of variant covers for the first issue. These covers, by various prominent artists, pay homage to iconic moments and covers from both Marvel and DC history, often with a humorous twist.
