Kaiser workers are on the verge of walking off the job in what could be the largest health care strike in US history.

San Francisco Police are investigating another incident involving a self-driving vehicle - this time a woman was trapped under a robo-taxi after being struck by a human hit-and-run driver.

Hundreds of auto workers at plants that are NOT being struck have been furloughed as General Motors and Ford yesterday said the 18-day labor action has had a significant impact.

This comes as the UAW says quote "significant gaps remain" between the two sides after presenting a new contract offer to GM.

Dozens of ships and planes and hundreds of sailors are arriving in San Francisco for Fleet Week. But, he annual nautical celebration was almost sunk by a government shutdown.

It's a busy week ahead in San Francisco. The Blue Angels are flying over the City's head this week. It's an annual air show that wouldn't have skyrocketed if it weren't for the late Senator Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein lies in state at City hall, where the public will be able to pay their respects on Wednesday. Meanwhile the City is launching Care Court today, which is an alternative mental health court program designed to fast-track people with untreated schizophrenia into housing and medical care. As of today, in several counties across the state, a judge will be able to order someone who is severely mentally ill into treatment. KCBS Radio’s Jennifer Hodges reports that the CARE Court program will be closely watched by critics.

True to his word, Governor Gavin Newsom has chosen an African American woman to replace Dianne Feinstein in the U.S. Senate. KCBS Radio's Matt Bigler joins us with more on Laphonza Butler.

While serving as Mayor of San Francisco, Dianne Feinstein steered the city through one of its most challenging chapters: the 1980s AIDS crisis.

Before serving in the US Senate.. Dianne Feinstein served as the first woman to be the Mayor of San Francisco from 1978 to 1988. 

She led the city through turbulent times over that decade.. with the death of Harvey Milk and former mayor George Moscone kicking off her career in that role. 

During her time as Mayor, Feinstein named Frank Jordan Chief of Police, before he went on to become the Mayor from 1992 to 1996.
