We're learning more about some of the victims of the mass shooting in Half Moon Bay this week as well as a possible motive for the killings. Oakland’s Chinatown community held a vigil to honor the victims of the Half Moon Bay, Monterey Park and Oakland mass shootings. We'll soon learn more about the attack on Paul Pelosi following a judge's ruling to allow for the release of new audio and video evidence. Shasta County will no longer use Dominion Voting Systems to count votes in elections. Officials at the National Drought Monitor are watching how quickly our massive snow pack will melt into our reservoirs this spring, but according to the latest Drought map out this morning, we are looking better and better, particularly in the Central Valley.

The man accused of gunning down more than a half-dozen co-workers at two mushroom farms in Half Moon Bay will be in court later today to face multiple murder charges.  Governor Newsom speaking in Half Moon Bay yesterday, said the mass shooting has highlighted two huge problems. California's near back-to-back mass shootings have crime experts baffled. Governor Gavin Newsom has just finished speaking to reporters in Half Moon Bay about yesterday's deadly shooting which claimed 7 lives. Earlier in the day, San Mateo County Sheriff's officials released more information about the shooting.

Officials believe the shooting that took place at an Oakland gas station last night was gang-related. 

More details are coming to light about the arrest of San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Charles Omenihu on suspicion of domestic violence.

California has now seen three mass shootings in as many days:  most recently a shooting at an Oakland gas station where one person was killed and several injured, and a horrible shooting in Half Moon Bay that left seven dead yesterday. KCBS Radio's Matt Bigler who is in Half Moon Bay near the scene of one of the shootings. 

A mass shooting at an Oakland gas station last night is adding to the renewed calls for tougher gun legislation. As KCBS Radio reporter Holly Quan tells us, those who work Oakland streets say while attention is focused on Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park, Oakland's violence numbers have been staggering for years. 

As congressional lawmakers negotiate the nation's debt, some are calling for changes to social security, but that could have far-reaching impacts. For more, KCBS Radio is joined by Kathleen Day, journalist and professor at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
