I once heard someone say, “The size of your God will determine the boldness of your prayers.” It made me pause and evaluate my own prayers. In other words, how and what we pray for is shaped, in part, by the God we are trusting in and believing to answer. The bigger our view of God, the bolder our prayers.
When the early church faced its first wave of opposition, the disciples had a choice to make about how they would respond—and what they would pray. What they believed about God ultimately shaped how they prayed. So, what do your prayers say about the size of God you’re trusting? Whatever you’re facing today or this week, we can learn a lot from the first “Good News People” about confident, bold, unshakable prayers. Join us this Sunday as we continue On Mission With Jesus and look to the early church in Acts to discover what bold, unshakable prayer looks like.
A Right of First Refusal is a useful way to make sure that you don't miss out on an opportunity or aren't forced into an opportunity you don't want. In many ways, I think that a lot of us are harboring a right of first refusal when it comes who the Lord might be calling us to connect with for the sake of the gospel. We like the mission, but we want to be able to define the mission field. This is an ancient and universal problem for followers of Jesus, and I'm excited to jump into how it affects us like it affected the earliest Good News People.
Some people love the "Season Recap" at the start of a new show, and some people can't press skip fast enough. No matter which one you are, this Sunday will provide a look back over the last year of material that we've covered as a church family with the goal of launching into a year of living on mission with Jesus. But it's not just a look back: we'll look in on the birth of the Church and see why they were told to wait after they were told to go.
La Clairvoyance. It’s a French phrase that literally means "clear sight"—the rare ability to see past present reality to ultimate destiny. Nearly 40 years ago, God sparked a vision in the hearts of a few people to launch Bay Area Community Church, and for four decades, He has been growing a movement of Good News people across our region and the world. But what if God is asking us to look again with fresh eyes? What if the places where we live, work, play, and learn—across Anne Arundel and Queen Anne’s counties—aren't just comfortable neighborhoods, but an urgent, thriving harvest field waiting for the hope of Jesus?
This Sunday is Vision Sunday 2026, and I want to personally invite you to be in the room as we lean into a single, life-changing question: What if we could see what God sees? You’re going to hear powerful, encouraging stories from our church’s history about normal, everyday people in our congregation—ordinary men and women who simply made themselves available, stepped out in faith, and saw God do extraordinary things through their lives. God isn't looking for extraordinary people; He is looking for available hearts ready to pray, care, and share right where He has planted us. Join us this Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m. as we move from identity to action together. I can’t wait to see you there!
Have you ever been in an argument and SO sure you're right about something that you google it - only to find out you're completely wrong? Yeah. Not a great feeling. That is essentially the situation that Israel finds itself in with their Creator God in the book of Malachi - it doesn't go well. But in the midst of their argument with God, there are powerful lessons for all of us to learn about what it means to be "all in" instead of "close enough" in our spiritual walk. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
When a crisis hits or demands pile high, our immediate impulse is to charge ahead, construct a plan, and force a solution in our own strength. But what if our frantic effort is actually stealing our peace?
Join us this Sunday as we wrap up our series, Living Well, with a foundational principle that changes everything: Bend the Knee Before Taking a Step. We’ll look at the extraordinary prayer life of Jesus, learn how to spot the internal warning signs of anxiety before they derail our peace, and discover why prayer isn't just preparation for the work—it is the work.
Whether you're walking through a deep valley or facing a week of difficult decisions, come learn how to trade self-reliance for divine power and perspective.
This Sunday, we continue our Living Well series to discover how God meets us in our trials and leads us to higher ground. We’ve learned that the journey begins when we say, "I resign right now," laying every right, plan, and relationship on His altar. But the hardest part of surrender isn't laying our lives down; it's keeping our hands off the steering wheel when delay or pain sets in. When life gets heavy, our natural instinct is to rush in, take control, and force a solution.
If you are struggling to resist the urge to take control during a season of trial, this message is for you. In the valley, surrender places your life on God’s altar—but waiting keeps your hands off His timing and direction so He can act on your behalf. Join us this Sunday as we learn what it means to step back, stay faithful to today's work, and watch God move in power. I can't wait to share this encouraging word with you!
When we go through painful valleys, our natural instinct is to grab control, manage our circumstances, and fix the pain ourselves. But what if real freedom isn't found in taking control—it’s found in surrendering all to God?
Join us as we look at a principle that changes everything: “Resign Right Now." I’ll take you on my own journey of surrender and share four life-changing passages of Scripture that show us what happens when we stop fighting for ownership and pray the prayer that sets our hearts free: "Lord, I surrender everything and everyone to You."
If you are walking through a difficult valley and wondering what God is doing or where things are heading, this message is for you. We’ll be reminded that the low places are often where we experience the quiet presence of Jesus most intimately.
This Sunday is a special morning. I’ll be over in Easton preaching at Eastpoint Church, and Sam Cassese, Eastpoint’s lead pastor, will be right here teaching at BACC! Back in September 2021, we had the privilege of launching Eastpoint. Since then, it’s been incredible to watch what God is doing there; they’ve grown to over 700 people gathering every week.
Sam is a dynamic communicator with a genuine passion for helping people take their next steps in faith. He’ll be continuing our Baycation series with a message from Acts 2, looking at what happens when God launches a vibrant community centered around Jesus—and what that means for our lives today. You won’t want to miss it. Be sure to give Sam a warm BACC welcome this Sunday!
