  • First manned Moon mission in 50 years is 'ready to go', says Nasa | BBC News
The first manned mission to the Moon in more than 50 years is "ready to go" after final tests, Nasa has said.
Artemis II is expected to launch on March 6, and aims to send humans further than ever before into space.
The mission isn't to land on the moon, but circle it, with the four North American astronauts getting to see the dark side of the Moon - something we never get to see.
It's a major step in the new space race between the US and China to see who can return to the Moon first.

  • US President Donald Trump 'considering' military strikes on Iran | BBC News
US President Donald Trump has said he is considering a limited military strike on Iran in order to pressure its leaders to agree a deal to curb the nuclear programme.
On Thursday, Trump said the world would find out "over the next, probably, 10 days" whether a deal would be reached or the US would take military action. The US has been increasing its military presence in the region in recent weeks.
The deployment includes the world's largest warship, USS Gerald R Ford, appearing to be heading towards the region.

  • Why Clair Obscur Expedition 33 was priced below its ‘worth’ | BBC News
Being a gamer isn't cheap, with some of the biggest games on the market sometimes costing north of £60 - and that's just for the standard edition.
But the CEO of Kepler Interactive, publisher behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, told the BBC's Laura Cress why they decide to sell their games for around £40.
Alexis Garavaryan also explained why he thinks gamers are moving away from buying into the AAA model of gaming and more towards games that give them an "exceptional experience".
He also discussed the firm's view of generative AI, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had its 2025 Indie Game Awards stripped, including Game of the Year, due to the developer Sandfall Interactive using the technology for temporary placeholder textures in 2022.

  • How close is Trump to attacking Iran? | BBC News
For weeks, Washington has been building up its forces in the Middle East - and now looks set to assemble more air power in the region than at any time since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
President Donald Trump has been pressuring the Iranian regime to make a nuclear deal, saying Tehran has a deadline of "10, 15 days" before it could face potential military action. He has told reporters he's considering "limited strikes". Iran has vowed to retaliate if the US launches any attacks.
Merlyn Thomas from BBC Verify has been tracking the buildup of ships and fighter jets in the Middle East, including confirming the location of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln - equipped with guided missile destroyers and dozens of fighter jets - near Iran. USS Gerald R Ford, the world's largest warship, has also been spotted, seemingly en route to the region.
She explains the military fire power that the US could unleash on Iran, and how it compares with last year's Operation Hammer, when the US struck Iran's nuclear sites.

  • Single vaccine could protect against all coughs, colds and flus, researchers say | BBC News
A single nasal spray vaccine could protect against all coughs, colds and flus, as well as bacterial lung infections, and may even ease allergies, say US researchers.
The team at Stanford University have tested their "universal vaccine" in animals and still need to do human clinical trials.
Their approach marks a "radical departure" from the way vaccines have been designed for more than 200 years, they say.
Experts in the field said the study was "really exciting" despite being at an early stage and could be a "major step forward".

  • How Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest unfolded and what it means for the Royal Family | BBC News
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on 19 February 2026 - his 66th birthday - on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
He was later released under investigation, Thames Valley Police said.
