Lonely Hearts Ads became the pre-cursor for online dating in the 21st Century, and people were genuinely scared about the Aids epidemic. Women were demanding their independence, and the male was no longer in control of the dating experience. We not only take a look at dating practices, but also at the events of the 60s and 70s that led to changing the dating experience forever. Episode 28 of B.Boomer Unleashed, Dating Through the Decades Part 1, goes back in time when courtship and dating were a far cry from what they have become today. We start with customs that were prevalent in the 1800s and before, and fast forward to 1950. I encourage you to listen to these episodes with your children or grandchildren who are in the midst of this crazy thing we call dating. Over the next several episodes we'll be taking a look at where we've been and where it looks like we're going.
