Circumstances can be good or bad however our response can always be good.

We all have the potential to be our best version, our worst version or any version in between for any given moment.

What can we learn from Ruth, Boaz and Naomi about being the best possible version of us no matter what the circumstance.

Boaz being a man of integrity positioned himself at the city gate to do what he said he would do. God too, as our kinsman redeemer positioned himself ‎for our salvation and as a result re-positioned us to a place of being seated together with him. Living life from this position will give us a totally different perspective on life.

We can learn so much from the way that Boaz responds to Ruth's request for marriage. Boaz is a man of good character and he knows that within relationships:

Our future needn't be determined by our past choices or present circumstances. We are not entitled to anything but God can redeem our story.

God makes various promises of things he will do with and for those who love him. An excellent faith building message.

People don't necessarily remember what you say but they always remember how you left them feeling...

People respond to kindness. It is not weakness or feminine or about expecting a reward.

Naomi recognised that Boaz was a potential 'kinsman redeemer'. God's plan was always to redeem us - our position and our inheritance.

We need to be aware of the source of our provision.

God wants us to 'help ourself', recognise His blessings and be 'filled and overflowing'.

Like Ruth, we should be obedient to God's word.

It's natural for us to try and move away from a place of discomfort. We would often rather run away than face the issues that we come up against.

It is possible to reap in a time of famine (trouble & suffering) - God is waiting for us to come to the place of emptiness (surrender) so that we can move into a time of opportunity.

Everybody wants a better life, right? However, there are so many varied opinions available as to what constitutes a better life and how to get there.

In this series, we are studying the book of Ruth and seeing what we can learn from this historical story and finding practical applications for our own life in a modern society.

In order to have a better life we need to get our desires under control, recognise our source of strength and live a determined life.
