  • Unleash Your Inner Brave with Kristina Driscoll

Join Karaleigh in an interview with the unconventionally brave Kristina Driscoll. In this episode we talk about living an unconventional life, how no doesn’t mean no forever, what it means to strive for balance, and how we can have the courage to show up messy.

Kristina Driscoll trained for a career in finance, working over ten years in pension consulting and as a financial advisor. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Kristina’s husband was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s when their son was five years old. She was the caregiver to her husband and young son for 12 years. She continued to manage their investments throughout her husband’s journey. Kristina is also on the board of directors for the animal rescue group Sanctuary One. In 2015 she built a cottage for FIV-positive cats and continues to fully fund the cottage each year. Kristina has a podcast called “She’s Brave” on Apple and Spotify. She helps women find their path to becoming brave, resilient, and authentic.

    Favorite takeaways:

    1. We feel unsettled and we don’t know why. And I think the reason why we feel unsettled is because we know deep down that we’re meant for more.

    2. No doesn’t mean no forever. It means no right now, who knows about tomorrow or next week or next year. People have stuff going on. Don’t take it personally.

    3. It’s not that you don’t ever get knocked down, because we get knocked down a lot or we fall or it feels like the end of the world over and over and over again. It’s how many times you get back up. You just keep getting back up. It’s not that you don’t crumble, it’s that you pull yourself back together over and over and over again.

    4. We need all the voices, we need all the stories. We need women to speak up. That’s what our world needs more of. We need more examples of resilience and bravery.

    5. Action provides clarity. Even the tiniest of actions will lead to another action and another action and then all of that leads to clarity. You don’t have to have gigantic goals. Sometimes just making a smaller more achievable goal- when you actually can achieve it, that builds the courage muscle and the confidence.

    6. We’re always trying to give our best, but my motto has become done is better than perfect. Just start somewhere and put yourself out there and build from there. And even if it’s bad, that’s ok. You have permission to do it badly.

    7. We’re not really free until we can be authentic to ourselves. If you make a decision because you think other people will approve of it, instead of making a decision that’s right for you, you’re not even free. You’re not even free.

  • Real Talk: I’m a Hypocrite- Minisode
Welcome to this Minisode all about giving up and comparing ourselves to other people.
-Don’t give up just yet, wait. Except I feel like giving up all the time.
-Those voices never really go away, they ramp it up right before success happens.
-Comparison is always apples to oranges, but it’s SO easy to fall into that trap.

  • Cracking the Joy Code with Lori Pine

Join Karaleigh in an interview with the joyous Lori Pine.

In this episode, we discuss how to find happiness, how to measure your self worth, and the incredible idea that it’s ok to feel multiple emotions at once.
Lori Pine, The Joy CEO, is a Corporate VP who spent 25 years with global brands Anheuser-Busch, The Coca-Cola Company, and Campbell’s Soup Company and is now an executive life coach who helps ambitious, high-performing professional women gain clarity and reclaim their joy. Her innate ability to identify the problem and quickly assess the situation helps clients spend less time swirling and more time living and loving their lives. That is Joy!
    Favorite takeaways:
    1. Joy is within us at all times. All we have to do is access it. And it can be these micro-moments, it doesn’t have to be this big hoopla. Joy is different from happiness- happiness can be very fleeting, happiness is likely an event. But joy is cellular, it’s within you. It stays with you at all times and it’s yours. And you can be joyous and sad at the same time.
    2. This whole dichotomy of mixed emotions can really be confusing at times, because how can I be on such different ends of the spectrum with my emotions? The idea that I can be very grateful but still be longing is one that comes from the same space. I can be really grateful for my life but really want something more for it. And it’s ok.
    3. We are human beings and we are so complex and we get to feel all of the feelings and it gets to be ok. All of it. It all gets to be ok and totally acceptable and totally real and authentic.
    4. We forget to breathe. I mean the deep kind, where your lungs expand. Breathe in the good, breathe out whatever negative is running through your mind.
    5. Rock it. Just do it. Do your thing. You get to blaze your own path. Go do it your way and go show the world what’s possible. Sometimes you can’t find an example of somebody who’s done it before, and so- show them up! Show them what’s possible.
    6. You get to adapt your dream to where you and what your life is. You get to make it work and you underestimate how freaking creative you are and how powerful you are.
    7. Even on the dark days, joy is right at our fingertips. So just take a moment, breathe in, and choose joy.

  • Become a Mindset Master with Joscelyn Kate

Join Karaleigh in an interview with the insightful Joscelyn Kate.

In this episode, we discuss living your best life, pursuing what you actually love to do, how we can’t control what others think, and of course, the importance of mindset.
Joscelyn Kate is a Master Mindfulness Practitioner, Trauma informed Yoga Instructor, Certified Ritual Guide, wife, and mom to 4 kids ages 7 and under. She helps women reconnect with hope and faith in a grounded way through practical spiritual wellness practices.
    Favorite takeaways:
    1. We don’t appreciate how much time it takes to regulate our nervous system and allow ourselves to feel safe in a new thing. It takes time!
    2. When you are approaching something that is amazing and when you are approaching something that is completely out of your comfort zone and completely brand new, you are going to feel the fight or flight, you are going to get the adrenaline. And if you let that deter you, and send you in the other direction, you’re not going to keep walking the road of the great thing, of what you’re actually going to achieve.
    3. We can look back on our stories and know that we were lead here. It was a crazy journey, but we can see how all the pieces were perfectly put into place. And then we can take that same perspective when we look at our future.
    4. We don’t have control over everything and we don’t get to have all the answers, but if we cooperate with hope and faith, we can keep walking those steps and seeing the breadcrumbs and taking the paths and trusting. We need to practice the surrender.
    5. It’s mind blowing to realize that we don’t see the whole picture. We tend to get really focused on what’s happening right now. But if we could imagine how beautiful the whole story is going to be- we just can’t see the next chapter yet, it hasn’t been revealed yet. If we could just wait.
    6. We let the circumstances of our lives control how we show up so often. We don’t realize the power we have to show up anyway.
    7. You have to be the referee of your own life, and sometimes that means saying “nope, that one’s out of bounds!”
