God built this elaborate, complex, bloody system first on earth and then in heaven to do one thing: PUT AWAY SIN. The first required a LOT of blood and everything got covered with it. The second requires the blood of the only Precious One for all time.
We've got this spiritual elephant in the room which is our sin problem. How exactly do I access that God designed, effective, powerful mechanism to deal with my sin problem? It only takes 2 words:
He makes it simple enough that children can do it. He makes it such that the rest of us can become like children and do it. Listen 7 minutes and subscribe at bewithme.us or Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
The book of Hebrews can be summarized in 3 words: "ONCE FOR ALL." It captures the idea that Jesus does something spiritually powerful and effective ONE time. It is a substitutionary act that it is done not for Himself but FOR people. It is for ALL people that are called and is sufficient for EVERY SIN in EVERY PERSON in EVERY ERA.
But He doesn't draw ALL, all at once. In fact, the reality of this rescue mission is that He saves His all, ONE AT A TIME. So, you should have "a time, a place and a story" of His call to you. It should have a specific day, and maybe you remember even the weather. Who were the people that were with you when you came to agree with God in grief over your sin? If you don't yet have a day, then "TODAY is the day". For that is the FOUR word summary of Hebrews.

Is your conscience clean? I hope not.
It is a crazy thing to say, but a guilty conscience is usually a prerequisite to coming to God. All the previous ways of dealing with sin have been inadequate and temporary. They left the conscience seared. At least they should leave the conscience seared if you don't deny, ignore or compare it to the worst guy you can think of.
My prayer today is that you have MORE OF a guilty conscience. It is the beginning necessary to do step two. God takes sin seriously--in fact, deathly seriously. You should too. Agree with God about just one thing: my conscience is NOT clean. Then, come back tomorrow by subscribing at Bewithme.us or Apple Podcasts. Follow on Instagram.
Hebrews repeatedly makes the point that Jesus now is SEATED. Well, seated on what? On the La-Z-Boy like some retiree? Or is He a bit busier than that?
So, YES, Jesus is seated. But not on the La-Z-Boy. He's seated on a THRONE. The throne is full of grace that WE NEED. He is available, accessible and He's got stuff to give. Draw near today. And tomorrow by visiting bewithme.us to subscribe to tomorrow's 7 minutes if the Lord gives us another day.
We have been waiting for this new agreement with God:
This new covenant is more local, more personal, more permanent, and more convicting. Now, it is not centered in buildings or tents or objects or boxes. It is in the souls of people. Hear more of this tomorrow by subscribing at bewithme.us or [email protected].
If you spiritually STINK, you are in good company. Everybody, either was or is a stinker. God calls them enemies. Without His help He calls US His enemies. While we were His enemies, while we were spiritually stinking, He helps us. In fact, 100% of people who were saved spent 100% of their pre-saved lives being 100% spiritually stinky. God only saves sinners. God only saves enemies. God only saves stinkers.
Listen today for the great remedy for the spiritually stinky. If you are a stinker, you are most welcome here. Draw near all who stink. God has His heart tuned to such people. This 7 minutes is only for people that did, or people that are stinky.

Jesus has done His part. He's the maker of this better covenant based on the power of His INDESTRUCTIBLE life. He is ABLE TO SAVE. He's qualified, ready and able.
He asks us to do our part. Who is it that Jesus saves? Jesus is able to save completely those who are willing to be saved; those who draw near to God through Him. If that is you, then know that God is at work. No one comes unless the Father draw him or her Jn 6:44. He's made this access point through which we have the opportunity to draw near to God. He's done His part in making a better way, a better hope. Today, acknowledging that God has been drawing us, let's DRAW NEAR to Him.

Hebrews makes the case that Jesus is the SUPER-PRIEST: effective, permanent, unrivaled, and strong.
To do so, the writer goes all the way back to our super-relative Abram, before he even got his full name from God. He does this super-brave thing in Genesis 14 after his not so super-nephew LOT, of salt-fame, gets captured by a Mesopotamian super-army of 4 kings. Abram attacks with his 318 men and wins with the Lord's help. On the way home, Abram encounters the super-priest of that day, Melchizedek. Abram gives a tithe to the super-priest of his day, and in so doing says this super-priest is "greater" than Abram as a super-relative.
So our main allegiance, our main affections, our main devotion simply must go to the real Super-Priest, JESUS. Follow me on instagram to hear more about this super-priest tomorrow. bewithme.us Apple Podcasts work too. Like share subscribe comment.
What is my SOUL Anchored to? It's important because we live in the storms of life. So, how solid is the anchor of my soul? God's promised some shiny wonderful things, but how reliable are the promises? What are they founded upon?
Historically, two things:
Hebrews adds a third: the anchor of my soul is being held by JESUS. I am attached to the solid rock of Jesus. If I follow the anchor rope of my soul, it goes all the way to the arms of Jesus. He's in the right place, Doing the right thing(interceding), for the right time(always), for the right people (believers). We are anchored IN HIM.

Listen as I tell you a great story about my nephew, who began SERVING in the church ON HIS FIRST DAY in the church! He illustrates and brings life to our passage today in Hebrews 6.
Do you love God? SHOW ME by serving His saints.
Do you love His name? Then love practically the people of His name.
Do you love what God has done for you? Demonstrate it by doing for His church.
Don't be sluggish. Be an imitator of my nephew's good example. Are you a lover? Then be a server. When? If you missed your 'first day', then let's make today your first day.
Bewithme.us to listen tomorrow while you are serving. Listen to the podcast at Google podcasts or Spotify while you wipe tables.
