Nobody wants JUSTICE when it relates to our own sinfulness. Nobody wants to pay the price of justice for our personal errors. So our dear Lord makes another way. He sends Jesus to take the penalty for us. He gives us MERCY if we spiritually agree with Him.
Yet, there are some who know a lot about Jesus, who perhaps have attended church, listened to sermons, stuck their toe into Christian fellowship, have "tasted" the mercy of God and said, "NO! NOT FOR ME. I'LL MAKE MY OWN WAY. I'LL bear the penalties myself. They were offered and understood MERCY yet chose self-JUSTICE, which is no justice at all." They tasted, but spit it out. They were offered MERCY but chose self-JUSTICE. Don't let this be you. Don't become DULL to the pointy-end of CONVICTION. Bewithme.us Spotify Audible Castbox Podcasts.
Good news to the Hebrews: You have CAPACITY and ABILITIES.
Bad news: You aren't using it to the extent that you should. There are serious things we gotta talk about and you should be ready for them, but you're not. You are immature. But, YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED for maturity. So:
Good News: You have everything you need. You have Capacity and Ability, now GO USE IT. bewithme.us for some nice reels and stories: instagram link: https://instagram.com/mjsm1th?igshid=MjEwN2IyYWYwYw==
In all of human history, the most unjust suffering that ever happened was to Jesus. He was spotless. He didn't deserve it. 100% of it was unjust.
The Father could have stopped it. The Father had the ABILITY TO SAVE HIM FROM DEATH. Jesus asked that "the cup would pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as YOU will." (Note the perfect submission) The Father "says NO". He was ABLE and chose not to. Why?
For God so LOVED He gave...He was ABLE to save and yet, He GAVE. For who? Knuckleheads like you and I. He gave His Son for us. I think it was quite painful FOR THE FATHER, as well as Jesus, especially because the Father had the ABILITY to save Him, but CHOSE TO SAVE US.

God the Father was not powerless at the suffering and crucifixion of His Son Jesus. In fact, today we learn that the Father was ABLE TO SAVE Jesus from death. He wasn't absent from the throne that day either: The Father heard the prayers, supplications, and loud cries and saw the tears.
The Father did not hide His face from this horrible process. Ps22:24 He(the Father) has NOT HIDDEN His face from Him(Jesus), but has heard Him when He cried to Him. The Father suffered that day too in restraining His more than adequate abilities to save Jesus. The Father does not save Jesus. WHY? for people. For the LOVE of people. Sinners in current states of being enemies. To save people. For God the Father so loved the world that He gave His Son Jesus.

Sometimes the Bible is so much fun that in reading it, words just POP out of your mouth. Such is our passage today. Listen 7 minutes and see what pops out of your mouth.
You'll hear that there is mercy and grace in our time of need. You'll be invited to a whole throne full of grace. You'll see the occupier of that throne as a sympathetic, yet able Great Priest.
For believers, they're called to hold fast to a previous confession over and over. For not-yet-believers, there's a call to draw near for the first time. See if you too pronounce, "WOW"!

We end up like the contestants of the 16 season Discovery Channel TV show. That is, we end up Naked and Afraid.
We are not hidden; we are not unseen. In fact, we are seen deeply all the way down to our "marrow". We are seen discerningly, through all thoughts and intentions of the heart. He sees the content, the structure, and the intent of our souls.
So, we end up rather exposed and naked. Who of us could stand such scrutiny even if it would be only one day long? I think we'd be naked and afraid at the end. I think we'd all be Naked and Afraid without Him. We definitely need some help, not from another person or even an angel, but from our capable, effective, Savior. With Him, we can be Naked and Grateful. To account without Him is terrifying. To account with Him is EVERYTHING. [email protected] to subscribe.
If I were to expose your BONE, that would be called a deep laceration.
If I were to expose the MARROW of your bone, that would be called a COMPOUND FRACTURE or an OPEN fracture. It is a big deal. It fast becomes the highest priority of a person's life.
Similarly, God says He's gonna do such exposure on us. He's gonna give us COMPOUND fractures with His Word. He's gonna expose us deeply. Maybe even rend us open. Why? for our good. For our benefit. To help us.
Join me for 7 minutes today as God rends us with His Word to give us Compound Fractures of the Soul. bewithme.us
God's REST is the dependent posture of the soul, being held in the achievments of an accomplished God. It is achieved by the striving to listen, to know, to obey, to believe along with the characters of history (Israel), the characters of today (the Church), and the characters of a future Kingdom (heaven).
God's Rest is available and open for business. It is ultimately achieved by Him, doing stuff way above our pay grade. Our entering into God's rest is accomplished by STRIVING towards a God who has already ACCOMPLISHED IT FOR US.
Let's work hard today to REST in what God has already achieved.

There are a whole lot of todays in 40 years, 14,600 to be exact. The Old Testament people of God had that many chances to get it right. They chose to be knuckleheads. How many of them? All of them. Our response in hearing this should not be, "Oh that would NEVER be me" but more humbly, "Wait, that COULD BE ME."
I will hear His voice TODAY, I will do the "one another's" TODAY; I will know Your ways in Your Word TODAY; I will not fall away TODAY; I will not provoke You TODAY; I will please You TODAY; I will see your works TODAY; I will not harden my heart TODAY. I will "fill the shoes placed before me" TODAY. Repeat 14,600 days, or however many more we each have left.
If there are more days for the both of us, come back tomorrow by going TODAY to bewithme.us or write at [email protected] to be on tomorrows list.
You have heard the worst advice many times, "Just FOLLOW YOUR HEART." Cautionary Red flags should be everywhere because the Bible tells us what our hearts are really like: deceitful, prone to hardening, and even evil. In "following mode", this is where they end up.
Rather than following our hearts, we must LEAD our hearts.
