Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder

My actual physical Bible is my single favorite object on this earth. Absent what it reveals, specifically WHO it reveals, it is WORTHLESS. It is the OBJECT of the Scriptures, that give the Scriptures their VALUE.

As it turns out, the Scriptures are doing EXACTLY that: revealing God. So then, I can "love the pages" because of WHO the pages reveal.

What if in the court of your heart, you didn't allow certain expert witnesses that corroborate the claims of Jesus? That certainly would not be just.  

Jesus is calling for a fair assessment of the claims He makes.  An accurate, thorough evaluation is all He asks.

What DUTY do I have to particular days of the week, specifically Sunday, the Sabbath? Jesus seeks to be "Lord of your Sabbath". For some, that might mean working HARDER to even have something to Sabbath FROM. For some, it might actually mean MORE rules for the day; a more purposeful intent to set the day apart for the Lord. Or, like those in our official passage of John 5:1, less rules.

He designed a day so we'd designate a day especially for Him. Listen, then get busy working hard this week.

A man is healed. Yea! But what if he is healed on an INCONVENIENT day?  Let's then detain him, for breaking a man-made rule. 

Back the bus up here. He was H E A L E D. This is a big deal in the history of the universe. This is big. Attention must be paid. Perhaps worship is due. I'm going to the temple of God amidst the people of God. Right answer.

Do you want to be healed? One might think the answer would ALWAYS be yes. Alas, sometimes the answer is no.  Jesus will make such a challenge today.

What might you do with a SECOND miracle? Today, we get one, but it is a "minor" miracle.  It's minor, unless you ask the people involved in the story.  For them, it was the most important thing in the Bible; in their lives.  The amazing thing about Scripture, is that it offers the same importance to YOU.  Listen.
