Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder

Sorry for the indelicate title, but it is the reality we land on. "But God, what if my circumstances look pretty bad, and I know You are ultimately sovereign, what should I be doing right now?" 

Jesus gives the example for us to follow, literally to 'trace over': ENTRUST.  Entrust to who? Anybody? No, very specifically: to the God who judges justly. That is to the One who is being sovereign all along. If your life sucks a bit, then this listen/watch is for you.

The Lord brews treasures in the 50 chapters in Genesis.  Here's today's: God SHOWS UP rather than THROWS UP.  God leans in to circumstances of evil and illness and suffering. 

For us, when it looks the WORST, we should be looking for God.  He has leaned in to our frankly evil world. If you are suffering in some way, this video is especially for you.

Joseph's brothers value forgiveness so much that they are willing to lie (again) to achieve it. Their willingness to do so shows some insight and some persistent foolishness.

If you've got some bad circumstances floating around in your life, you have got my attention.  The question really is, "does God have YOUR attention?" Our new nation Israel must live through some very unpleasant times to ultimately MAKE HIM KNOWN. It wasn't fun. Perhaps God could be at work in the circumstances you do not prefer.

When God reveals a new name, it is a BIG DEAL. It is a characteristic that lasts FOREVER. We will be calling Him the same "names of old" in eternity. 

The names also reveal something about ourselves.  Oops. I didn't know I NEEDED that quality of God.  Today we'll find out something new about God, and by extension, ourselves.

Imagine having to summon all your strength to even sit up in bed. Jacob does this at 147 years of age to BLESS THE NEXT GEN: his grandsons.  In fact, he adopts them into his heritage plan.  This decision ripples for centuries.  For us: let's bless the next generation of family or church families. They need it!
