“Be Ye Doers of the Word, and Not Hearers Only” This week we are reading the book of James in the New Testament. Welcome to the Come Follow Me Podcast for Kids! We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we create this podcast for primary aged children (2-12) following along with the church’s Come Follow Me Manual. The children will learn: Heavenly Father will help me learn truth if I seek His help. Primary children are only a few years younger than Joseph Smith was when he read James 1:5 and was inspired to approach Heavenly Father in prayer. In this episode we will build their faith that God will help them when they lack wisdom. We will also do a refresher for children about Joseph Smiths first vision. Then they will learn that “Faith without works is dead.” They will see the connection between what they believe and what they do. They will learn to be doers of the word and not hearers only. And finally they will learn I can choose to speak with kindness. The words we say to each other may seem unimportant, but as James testified, they can have a powerful influence, for good or bad.
