I do not use a debit card. You might think this is strange and you've been convinced that credit cards are bad. Historically, I used debit cards all the time. In fact it was the only thing I would use when I was broke because I was terrified of credit card debt.
See, if you have listened to previous episodes you have learned that at one point I had around 8-12K of credit card debt accumulated after only 2 years of entering the work force. When I was finally in a financial position to pay off all that debt, I no joke had credit card PTSD. So I would only use debit cards.
I want to talk to you all about this former PTSD and how I overcame it so that you approach credit cards with strategy versus emotion or bad habits. If you do not have a healthy relationship with credit cards that in part is what this episode is for, to help you establish a better relationship with credit cards so you can use them to help you not hurt you.
If you are currently in credit card debt I highly recommend listening to episode 5 - the top 4 strategies to make more money as I do a deeper dive there into how to pay down your credit cards but also you will find some balance transfer and credit card calculator resources in todays show notes.
So just note that todays episode may or may not include strategies you can use right this moment, obviously if you have high credit card debt paying those down and working on your relationship with credit cards themselves is step one. But it is really powerful to understand how to use CC's to your advantage.
