This week Charlie and Mike speak briefly about some of the tools they have used to encourage deer to move about their property. Successful land management should not only provide for the deer but also the hunter.
With trout season now open in NY we brought in one of the most knowledgeable fly fishermen in western NY. He also just happens to be my brother. Enjoy our brotherly banter, some tales of old, and a great discussion about fly fishing in WNY.
At the end of the podcast Dave mentions that he is selling flies sets again. If you are interested contact us at [email protected]
Charlie and I debate the practices and difficulties of managing for a healthy forest versus managing for wildlife habitat.
As a young hunter in the 80's and 90's you couldn't turn on any of the outdoor channels and not come across Larry Weishuhn. Today, we got to spend an hour with one of the "greats" of the hunting world. We talk deer habitat, handgun hunting, and so much more. Folks he is as genuine, kind, and graceful as he sounds. Sit back and enjoy this one.

This week Charlie and Mike review the banquets from last week, discuss last week's podcast, and talk about getting their bucks measure. Following this they go in to tree climbing and rope work to some depth.
This week we were joined by DEC Deer/Bear Biologist Jessica Haggerty. She focuses on our large game species here in western NY. We talk about habitat, deer diets, coyotes, and diseases. Jessica was fantastic to speak with and her passion for wildlife comes through. Our hope is that what was discussed today helps to dispel many of the deer camp myths but more important to encourage NY hunters as they pursue these wonderful animals.
This week Mike and Charlie look back on one year of podcasting, tease some upcoming guests and touch on some of the topics that will be coming soon.
This week we bring back two friends of the podcast to talk about our upcoming Game Dinner here in Perry. Pete will be here on March 15th and at Hartland Bible on March 16th.
