Beards Creek Adventures

Our lives pull us in many directions, having a focused priority can keep us from getting distracted from what really matters. Adrian Wilson is a man of integrity and has his priorities right. He deeply loves his family, his is intentional about his pursuit of Christ, and he loves to hunt. On this podcast we talk trail cameras, public hunting, salt water fishing, and velvet hunting as well as family and faith.

Adventure takes on many forms and while we are admittedly in the midst of getting ready for hunting season we don't want to neglect highlighting some of our other adventures. On this podcast my oldest son Jake recounts his trip this past June to Sierra Leone to help with research for a government project there. He's incredibly knowledgeable and easy to listen to, he even talks a bit about his hope for this years deer season.

Ever wondered what goes into creating the TV shows, videos, and photos that our favorite outdoor professionals put out? This week Justin Michau gives us some insights into how he has helped tell stories for such series as "One Week in November," Meateater's "Back Forty," as well as marketing content for Nosler and Lacrosse. Justin has a huge passion for family, for story telling, and for hunting. This one is absolutely worth the listen.

In part 2 of Scouting & Tales of the Hunt we take some time for an old fashioned "Bull" Session. Imagine you are sitting around deer camp telling the stories of previous hunts and laughing with the guys. In this hour we honor the post hunt ritual of getting together with fellow hunters to brag and bust chops. If you enjoyed this podcast give us a like, leave a review, subscribe, and share.

A great conversation with the founder of Polestar Outdoors. Ron Vining began this ministry a decade ago to help introduce kids to hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. It is has been an excellent way to not only give kids a chance to learn about outdoor pursuits, but has been a platform to teach citizenship, and to provide kids with a glimpse of their Creator. Ron is a long-time hunter and guide and currently resides in Powell, Wyoming. Chapters of Polestar can be found throughout the country.

This week we take a break from the formal interviews for an informal chat about pre-season prep for deer season. Boomer, Emily, and Boy Friend Jake join me for a conversation around trail cams, deer stands, fall foodplots, and more. With August upon us it's time to start accelerating our prep for this fall. This conversation took place while sitting around on vacation but it got us excited to get back and get to work. We hope you enjoy the chat and that it motivates you to get stuff marked off your pre-season check list.

Tonight we chase some rabbit trails with good friend Moosie Williamson. Mossie owns Catch and Release Camo and C-Sik fishing. We talk about how the business started, aspects of the clothing industry, and of course some hunting stories. Moosie has lived a life of adventure, even if you aren't interested or even looking for camo gear he's worth a listen.
