I’m sure we have all struggled with injustice in this world. I know I sure have. But what is your response to this injustice? You see, as Christians we are instructed not to repay evil for evil. The Lord says, “vengeance is mine!” and he will repay. Our role is never to take revenge on anyone, in fact Jesus says we need to forgive those who do us wrong and pray for those who persecute you. The Lord’s justice is far greater than our justice. The Lord has already claimed vengeance on those who wrong his children. So, take heart that the Lord is our vindicator, and justice will be served!
The second commandment out of the ten commandments quite literally states “you shall have no other gods before me”. Now I’m not talking about a golden statue of a calf here, I’m talking about anything that you value more than the Lord. Anything that is in between you and him. The good things in this world are meant to be enjoyed with a thankful heart. But when that gift replaces the gift giver, we fall into idolatry. It is so important to evaluate yourselves every day to understand what is it that brings us the most happiness and joy. We need to be conscious of what is it that takes high value in our hearts.
Have you ever struggled with the constant battle of comparison? Whether that be with another’s career, family life, relationship, home, lifestyle etc. I know for a fact that comparison is something I constantly wrestle with. I know it’s wrong and it does nothing but dampen my mood, so then why do I do it? Why is it something so instinctive for us humans? Comparing myself to others does nothing but kill my soul and rob me off my joy. I think that in itself should give you an idea of who adds fuel to the fire. Are you ready to hear what God says about comparison? He says that YOU were beautifully and wonderfully made. So perfect in his eyes! Yes you! So, it’s time to believe it my friend. Let’s kill comparison before it kills us!
You don't need an extravagant or an enormous amount of faith for you to believe that anything is possible. Jesus says, all you need is faith as small as a mustard seed and you can tell a mountain to move and it will move. See, it is so easy to get caught up in the requirements of how much faith one should have. But the Bible literally tells us otherwise. Jesus encourages us to have child-like faith. Faith that consists you to believe that anything is possible. Faith that is as small as a mustard seed, a seed that once is sprouted, can grow up to be one of the largest of plants. Believe that anything is possible with God on your side.
We all make mistakes, it’s inevitable for us humans. We are all sinners. But when making those mistakes, do you feel guilt, shame and regret? Or do you feel corrected? Do you feel punished or disciplined? See these two feelings come from two very different sources. Let me introduce you to Condemnation and Conviction. In today’s episode we dive into where these two sources stem from. Because if you ever feel condemned rather than convicted, it comes from the evil, the only source that says that you will never be enough. But conviction comes from the Holy Spirit, always helping you to reach and be your best through love and compassion. That’s what Jesus is! Compassionate and loving, who doesn’t see us for our mistakes, but sees us for who we are.
What do you fill your cup with every day? Is it the worldly pleasures? Temporary happiness? Friends, family, partners, food, money etc. the list goes on… We all turn to the wrong things in life to fill our cups with, which is why our cups run out and end up empty. But can I tell you that nothing fills your cup up like the way Jesus does. His love, grace, mercy, comfort makes your cup overflow. Today we take a passage out of the Bible of Jesus and the Samaritan woman and read about what God says about the living water. Water that will never make you go thirsty again. Water that will overflow your cup. Are you ready for your cup to overflow?
How many times have we dug ourselves THE pit? The pit of despair and misery. A toxic spiral that doesn’t end. Self-pity, being one of the deadly sins, can ruin our hearts and minds if we don’t reach out our hand, for Jesus to hold onto. Otherwise, the only other person in this pity party is you and the devil. Let’s get out of that pit! No more! But the only way we can do that is with the help of our Saviour. Let’s start with our attitude. Less of the toddler tantrums, and more of a grateful heart.
Has there been a time in your life where things didn’t go quite as plan? What you desired didn’t meet your timeline? Are you in a standstill just waiting for a breakthrough, or waiting for things to actually turn out the way you anticipate? I want things to happen according to MY timeline! I am done waiting! Nothing is happening. Well can I tell you friends that OUR timeline isn’t always the perfect one. Because only God knows what’s perfect for us. He knows what we need. He knows what our heart desires. Get excited because your breakthrough is coming! Let’s blindly trust him and grow our faith while we’re in this waiting room. Waiting on him is the best thing you could ever do!
Are you caught up in life’s timeless schedule? Flesh worrying about daily agendas, but your heart wanting to sit with the Lord. Well, let me tell you about two of the many extraordinary women in the Bible. Mary and Martha. Mary pushing aside the busy callings of the world and sitting at the Lord’s feet. Whereas Martha, still with the intention to serve the Lord, gets caught up with the daily duties of the world. I think you and I can resonate more with Martha. How do we grow and strengthen our devotion for the Lord when there’s just so much to do? Well in today’s episode we look at what the Lord says about our priorities. How to have a heart that desires and longs for Jesus, all while living in a world that asks so much of us.
