Beatnik Turtle's Song of the Day

This song was inspired by a sunset on the California coast some years ago.

This year, we are once again participating in the RPM Challenge. Last year, we produced our album All In A Day's Work for RPM Challenge 2007. This year, we are basing our album on the concept behind the Beatnik Turtle songs Beer Beer Beer, All For Me Grog, and Whiskey Yer The Devil. That is, we are taking traditional Irish songs and re-arranging them Beatnik Turtle style.

This week, we present the first finished cut from the new album. Watch for more in the month of March!

Beatnik lawyer says: "the ideas and sentiments expressed herein are fictional and for entertainment purposes only, not to be considered in a literal sense."

To this day, when Ted says "Hi, my name is Ted," he has to bite his tongue to keep himself from saying, "...and this is my song about ants."

Girls! Women! Birds! Chicks! This song's about all the pretty girls out there (and you know who you are) and celebrates each and everyone of them. As the song says, it's not a man's world that spins 'round, it's a pretty girl's playground.

This was song dates back to 1989 when Tom wrote it for a composition class. He dusted off the tape, digitized it, added new stuff, and shined it all up for The Song Of The Day.

All of you probably know someone who needs to hear this song. The original studio version is on our "un-holiday" album Santa Doesn't Like You. This one is from our recent Beatnik Turtle Live album.

Sometimes you gotta take advantage of a situation. And Christmas is no exception.

Today's song is a bit of a dark outlook on the silly season.

Let this be a lesson to you - don't make the same Christ-mistake as this guy did.
