Beatnik Turtle's Song of the Day

Here's another great song by Holmes. Features Tom Roper on the 12-string.

While the name of the song is a Spinal Tap reference, this one is almost a period piece, taking us back to the early 80s when record players and mixtapes were how we listened to and shared our music.

One of the first Beatnik Turtle Twittersongs, this one was inspired by a Twitter post from Mur Lafferty. She had posted this tweet: "kitchen clean, fridge cleaned out. WHY do I keep saving food?" That prompted us to look into our fridge where we spotted several species of scary substances.

This song is dedicated to that lonely notepad with important looking notes sitting on the conference room table. It'll lie there day after day waiting hopelessly for its owner to reclaim it.

This was song dates back to 1989 when Tom wrote it for a composition class. He dusted off the tape, digitized it, added new stuff, and shined it all up for The Song Of The Day.

Based on a actual events.

Another one of the traditional Irish songs that we re-interpreted.

This is the theme for the The Gigcast who are celebrating their landmark 100th episode! "It's not what you do to live, it's what you live to do."

Ah, the foggy regrets of the "night before."

Santa doesn't like you, but hey, he doesn't like Beatnik Turtle either, so it's all good. This is a live version of the title track from our "Un-Holiday" album available at the iTunes.
