Beatnik Turtle's Song of the Day

Ah, the annoying little things your loved one does...

This is a song about a girl named Arcola from the little town of Arcola, Illinois. Arcola is known for their Lawn Rangers, a precision lawn mower drill team, that marches in formation with brooms and lawn mowers while wearing cowboy hats. Jason Feehan (lead singer and author) and Dave Barry (humor columnist and author) are proud members.

We did it! 365 songs in 365 days. And this last song is not so much goodbye as see ya later. In fact we'll see ya tomorrow (The Song Of The Week).

Tomorrow's the last song of the year. We happy to say we met our goal of 365 songs! And, yes, people have asked if we're gonna keep going...

Today we look behind the curtain with a look back at some of the demos that would later become songs at TheSongOfTheDay.com. You can hear parts of the songwriting session for Face Down In The Snow, Tom's sleepy-voiced demo of Under The Radar, the soundcheck jam that became Helen Can You Hear Me?, and many more demos like:

Welcome To The Worldwide Virtual Stage

This is literally a song about our friend Frank's famous chili.

Today's song is a sixties-inspired love ballad with a modern twist.

Merry morning after Christmas. Although it's stated in the song, we don't advocate leaving the ornaments on the tree and pretending it isn't over when in fact it is. See Take It Down, particularly the line "lazy son of a bitch" for more info.

Santa doesn't like you, but hey, he doesn't like Beatnik Turtle either, so it's all good. This is a live version of the title track from our "Un-Holiday" album available at the iTunes.

You would think that since the word "Santa" is Spanish, St. Nick would be able to speak Spanish. Unfortunately, he doesn't. This song exposes the truth about the fat man. Features MC Pedro on guest rap.
