I'm very excited about today's special edition of Beauty Uncovered. Today, I’m speaking with OLAPLEX Ambassador Guy Tang, as well as the CEO of OLAPLEX, JuE Wong. We're here to discuss a very uncomfortable time that we are right now having in our lives.
Last year, the Black Lives Matter movement surfaced a lot of conversations that were both uncomfortable and very necessary. And now, today, we are finding that we need to have more conversation. We're not done yet. Today we are talking about race in America, specifically as it relates to Asian Americans. Our intention is to have this tough conversation, while still celebrating all that we are.
In this episode, Guy Tang and I talk about a wide range of topics, including how:
For those of you who are not familiar with Guy Tang in the hair industry, he is a popular international educator and the creator of the Mydentity color brand. But you may have seen his hair transformations on his incredibly popular YouTube channel, or on Netflix hit show Bling Empire. Oh, and on top of that, he also happens to be a recording artist.
Beauty Uncovered is brought to you by Olaplex, which invites you to go beyond the surface with the only system that rebuilds broken hair bonds. You can find out more at Olaplex.com
In this episode, we have movie and television actress Johanna Brady. Not only will Johanna be giving us the scoop on some of her upcoming movies, but she'll also be sharing her favorite skincare routines, her beauty inspirations, and what she and her husband do together to achieve their healthy glow.
For those of you who are not familiar with Johanna, she is best known for playing FBI agent Shelby Wyatt on the thriller series Quantico and Anna Martin on Season One of the critically acclaimed show UnReal. She is also an advocate for a healthy lifestyle as a path to true beauty.
In today's episode, I'm speaking with Platinum blonding extraordinaire, Sarai Speer. In this episode, Sarai and I dive deep into the blonde rules and give information every hair colorist knows and every client should. We also discuss low versus high maintenance and embracing your personal beauty.
For those of you who are not familiar with Sarai you may know her as the Platinum Giraffe on social media, or from her appearance on The Look All-Star on TV. She has been featured in BuzzFeed Cosmo, Pop Sugar, Sephora, Insider Beauty, The Today Show and Modern Salon. She is a nationwide educator and artistic director with Trionix and an Olaplex advocate. She is an expert at incredible hair transformation and is known in the industry for teaching her Platinum blonding techniques.

Everyone talks about “How do you make your skin beautiful?”, “How do you make your hair beautiful?”, and beautiful is different versions for all of us.
When women look in the mirror, and they're proud of what they see. It isn't about the perfect body or them being beautiful. It's about being the best version of themselves at the time.
I think that anyone, no matter what people look like, when they feel like their best, I like seeing the confidence that comes out of them.
Good, natural, beautiful hair color never goes out of style.
2020 was the year of self-care and taking care of your hair. But, people are gonna want wow moments. People are gonna want to go out and party and look their best.
I think a lot of people want to have some magical new skin thing they use and a lot of these things take time. You have to test things out, see what works for you, have fun with it.
People are craving realness more than ever right now. They want to see themselves in a photo. They want to feel like they connect.
I like to focus on the positive when something bad happens. I'm like, what can you learn here? When I look back, it really wasn't as hard as I thought it was. It made me stronger.
Make sure you have time to yourself, make that a priority. When we're doing those things, it shows in our energy level, our excitement, and our passion for life.
There's filters everywhere, and everyone's editing their pictures. So we all have this idea of what's perfect. It's just unattainable.
