After a 10 day layoff, the Bucs return to action Sunday vs Division rival Atlanta at Raymond James Stadium. Tampa looks to win its 10th straight game while the Falcons are in semi-rebuild mode after a hiring a new head coach and general manager this offseason. The Bucs must pressure QB Matt Ryan and the entire offense after they struggled week 1. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay would like to be more balanced on offense and get Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones going in the game. #LFG

NFL Week 1 is complete. Derek Carr stepped up, Aaron Rodgers is disinterested and Pat Mahomes is.... Pat Mahomes.  The Saints and Cardinals fans should be excited while Urban Meyer probably misses his family.  Good bet Mike Vrabel is swearing in the defensive team meeting. In our 2nd part of the 2021 NFL Preview we break down the American Football Conference. The AFC could easily be called the Young Guns with its long list of young, high draft pick Quarterbacks throughout. Pat Mahomes is the most talented QB in the league while Josh Allen is not far behind. Meanwhile, guys like Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow are a treat to watch and championship level players. This conference should be fun to watch in 2021 and beyond.

The NFL is back and the league got a show in game 1. Ryan Succop's last 2nd field goal settled a gun fight between Dak Prescott and Tom Brady, securing the win for the defending Super Bowl Champions 31-29.  The game featured lots of action and typical sloppy early season mistakes but Tampa did enough to win. LFG

The celebrations will end in 24 hours and the hard work will begin as the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Dallas Cowboys to open the 2021 NFL season. Tampa returns all ALL 22 starters plus the entire coaching staff and looks to become the 1st team to repeat since the 2003-04 New England Patriots. That squad had a pretty good QB. Hint: He will be under center for Tampa and wears #12. Dallas is in a semi rebuild mode and is looking for a healthy return from star QB Dak Prescott to lead them into the postseason.

NFL teams are now at 53 players after cuts, trades and roster moves earlier this week.  Some interesting names hit the street (Wave, Cam Newton!) and several others are back on the practice squad. Meanwhile, a personal favorite is retiring.

QB battles and a big extension for a flawed player highlight this weeks training camp notes.  Several squads with rookie high draft pick Quarterbacks have to excited with the progress they see with their young guy. Meanwhile, Jameis Winston seems to be a good bet to take over for Drew Brees in New Orleans.

The first full week of preseason action is complete and many teams got to see their 1st round QB play in live games. Like the veterans (who played!!!): some good, some bad. As Bill Parcells likes to say "Everyone is day to day in the NFL". One positive was the lack of serious injuries. With the shortened preseason, look for teams to ramp up work and possibly extend starters reps in game 2. LFG

 The NFL season has officially kicked off and many of the greats of the game showed up in Canton, Ohio. The league did a tremendous job for two classes of Hall of Famers and we had the annual kickoff game. And Josh Allen is now a VERY rich man.
