Lessons learned: Joker and Dead Man's Shoes are not very happy films, Mr Freeze's wife is the ultimate woman in a refrigerator, nodding makes great content for a podcast, and Bruce Wayne's parents were killed?!

Lessons learned:  Thomas the Tank Engine doesn't count, The Power Rangers could beat The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a fight, Robot/Android nipples are more outlandish than Y: The Last Man, and Spider-Man is just there for the mad bantz bruh!

Ian and Iain put the Ian in Victorian as they discuss the film so bad it caused Sean Connery to retire from acting. The duo may be divided on Alan Moore & Kevin O'Neill's original comic, but they're united in their views of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (or LXG if you're illiterate), from the bad to the terrible and everything in between.

Along the way there'll be bad Shcottish accentsh, half-hearted Easter Eggs and a brand new, imaginatively titled segment.

Lessons learned: Sean Connery has not come back to life, Mina Murray is not a Vampire, Dorian Gray is not Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Tom Sawyer may or may not have painted fences.

Ian and Iain dip their toes into the watery world of DC as they discuss Aquaman (2018) before doggy paddling their way over to Geoff Johns' Aquaman vol. 7 issues 1 to 6 for a dive into The Trench.

Lessons learned: The Namor vs Aquaman debate goes unresolved, extended perfume commercials do not make for a grand cinematic experience, Ian is wrong about Justice League posters (but the seven were still never united), and it may actually be Shakespeare.

Ian and Iain revisit the Fox X-Men franchise for the fifth time as they discuss Logan (2017) and see what inspiration it takes (if any) from Old Man Logan in the comics. Together they discuss mutant metaphors, inbredible Hulks, and the many uses of adamantium bullets.

Lessons learned: Richard E Grant is not William Stryker's son, Richard E Grant is not Mr Sinister, Richard E Grant is underutilised and Wolverine may be a Vampire.

Ian and Iain have a dilemma to resolve as they reach the first comic so far that Iain has read before! Luckily they have a guest waiting in the wings in the form of Luke to lend a cool hand to proceedings. Together they discuss Frank Miller's Sin City, as well as Kieron Gillen, Fullmetal Alchemist, Asterix and Papa Smurf.

Lessons learned: The whole film is an egg, it wasn't sponsored by Converse (or was it?), Germans do have a sense of humour and we're no longer fuelled by testosterone and puberty.

Luke doesn't have any other podcasts to listen to, so if you want the hear more from him, you'll have to try loitering around in pubs until he shows up. It shouldn't take long.

Iain is back and not a moment too soon as Ian has to watch his first ever CW DC show with Arrow season 1: Episodes 1 to 6. They'll be comparing it to Green Arrow: Year One by Andy Diggle and Jock, but which (if any) will hit the mark?

Lessons learned: Deadshot should've been called Spray-n-Pray, Arrow can climb the Colin Salmon ladder, nobody cares about Jack's tattoo in Lost and the sunk cost fallacy is the fallacy of sunk cost.

Ian is once again joined by guest host John and in honour of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier coming to Disney+, we're comparing Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) to Captain America vol. 5 by Ed Brubaker. (The irony of discussing the tonal shift within the Marvel franchise an episode after discussing Persepolis is not lost on us).

Lessons learned: Running is a motif, Steve will flirt with anyone, Bucky is not just a handsome man, and Sam can't talk to bats and may or may not eat eggs.
