In this episode of Becoming Super Podcast, Scott and Angelica discuss the difference between being a thermostat and a thermometer in your life, business, and as a leader.

A thermometer simply measures or tells the temperature around it.
It doesn’t set the pace. It is dictated by its environment. It REACTS.
A thermostat controls the environment around it.
It sets the pace and dictates the environment, rather than being dictated by it.

How does this transfer into your life?
If you are constantly in a state of reaction - letting every circumstance and obstacle completely derail you or control your actions and emotions, you are a thermometer. It is very difficult to get things done and achieve your goals in this state.
If you are acting as a thermostat, you are controlling your environment. You decide where your attention goes, who has access to you, what you spend your resources on. You don’t let circumstances or obstacles blow up your plans, you simply adjust and find your way through it, around it, over it to still achieve your goal.

When handling this objection, help the other person see the opportunity they could have to be a blessing to family, friends, neighbors, community, and more.
Help them think about the possibilities.

In this episode of Becoming Super Podcast, Scott and Angelica discuss how to guide a conversation, not force it, when you are building rapport and introducing your business to someone.
Sometimes, especially when you are still developing the skill of conversation and networking, you can tend to focus on asking your 'list of questions', rather than letting the conversation flow naturally.
How can you fix this?
First and foremost - LISTEN! Ask your first question, and listen to what they say in response.
Be curious and respond to what they said - don’t jump straight to the next question on your list, especially if it doesn’t make sense.
Ask open-ended questions instead of yes/no questions.
Be genuinely interested. Do not pretend you care about shoes if you don't, people will see right through that - but you can be interested in what got that person interested in shoes!
