Welcome to episode 59 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
Well, we've finally arrived. After covering it since the beginning of last year, your host Bede Jermyn has come to end of his deep dive into every aspect that's linked to Night Of The Living Dead's official sequel Dawn Of The Dead. Before he heads into his next phase of the podcast, Bede has one final DOTD related media that he'll be looking at. For this episode, Bede dives into a straight-to-DVD horror film that had it's title changed to capitalise on the release of the 2004 Dawn Of The Dead remake: Dawn Of The Living Dead (a.k.a. Curse Of The Maya and Evil Grave) from writer/director/star David Heavener.
Joining Bede to discuss this DOTD *ripoff* are returning guests The Super Network writer/contributor Marcus Wilturner and journalist Dave O'Brien. Highlights include hilarity that film thinks that it is "Dawn Of The Dead meets 28 Days Later", the continuity error that Bede noticed, was Todd Bridges' character inspired by the film Radio?, the insanity of the plot, Joe Estevez's wardrobe and so much more.

Welcome to episode 58 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
After covering most of the unofficial Dawn Of The Dead spinoff franchise Zombi for most of the show these past couple of months, your Bede Jermyn is going back the original 1978 film itself by diving into a short story that’s actually centred around it. For this episode, Bede takes a look at Bobby Conroy Comes Back From The Dead from author Joe Hill (Horns, The Black Phone) written for his 2005 short story collection 20th Century Ghosts.
Joining Bede to discuss this short story are returning guests podcaster Trevor Snyder (Failure To Franchise), author Aaron Dries (House Of Sighs, Dirty Heads, Cut To Care: A Collection Of Little Hurts) and first-time guest journalist Dave O'Brien. Plus, Dave tells us about the first time he watched Night Of The Ling Dead and Bede brings back the segmentThe Living Dead Unreleased to look at George A. Romero's attempt back in the '90s to turn NOTLD into a TV series.

Welcome to episode 57 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
When it comes to most of the NOTLD comic books that yur Bede Jermyn has discussed on this podcast, most of them have been released by one company: Avatar Press. Since he covered their last NOTLD comic series that was released from them on episode 45 with Night Of The Living Dead: Aftermath, Bede is going back to beginning to one of the first ones that they produced. For this episode, Bede delves into the three issue 2006 prequel comic mini-series Night of The Living Dead: The Beginning, which was written by NOTLD co-creator John Russo and illustrated by Sebastian Fiumara.
Joining Bede to discuss this prequel comic series is returning guest Doug Tilley (Cinema Smorgasbord and No-Budget Nightmares). Highlights include how Night Of The Living Dead: The Beginning fills in some of the questions of the original film, the two original characters who appeared in other Avatar Press NOTLD comics Bede has covered previously, the massively hilarious continuity error, how some characters look way too similar and so much more.

Welcome to episode 56 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
Now that eveything involving the Zombi franchise with its many official and unofficial entries is behind him, your host Bede Jermyn is heading back into the world of Dawn Of The Dead by taking a look at two short films that were made as special features the physical media release of the 2004 remake of Dawn Of The Dead. Both of those being The Lost Tape: Andy's Terrifying Last Days Revealed and Special Report: Zombie Invasion.
Joining Bede to discuss these two DOTD remake related shorts are returning guests Derek Smith & John Seavey (Half Price Horror). Highlights include wondering if both shorts do a good job of expanding the world of the Dawn Of The Dead (2004), who was more mixed on The Lost Tape: Andy's Terrifying Last Days Revealed than the others, debating Bruce Bohne's performance as "Andy", praise the effectiveness of Special Report: Zombie Invasion, how the short is a Babylon 5 reunion, which legendary comedian gets a "thank you" credit in both films and so much more.

Well, it has finally arrived. After the releasing the pilot episode back in October to the waters if there would be any interest, Bede & Steve are back with their long-awaited second episode of the podcast into exploring all things The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. For this one, your hosts take a look at the follow-up to the legendary 1974 horror classic with its 1986 sequel The Texas Chainsaw Masssacre 2, which was once again directed Tobe Hooper (Lifeforce, Eaten Alive) and produced by infamous '80s schlock studio The Cannon Group (American Ninja, Masters Of The Universe).
However, Bede & Steve won't be alone on this episode. Joining the hosts to discuss this second film in the franchise are first-time guests author Aaron Dries (House Of Sighs, Dirty Heads and Cut To Care: A Collection Of Little Hurts, which you can buy at his official website here) and Warren Money (co-host of s#1tcast). Highlights include the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre film that both Aaron & Warren watched, who really hated the film the first they watched it?, how Tobe Hooper set out to make a sequel that was different from the first, is Leatherface's mask the worst thing that Tom Savini has made?, the mixed feelings of the third act and so much more.

Welcome to episode 55 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
After tackling this specific topic on-and-off on the podcast since episode 39 last year, you host Bede Jermyn has finally reached the end of his deep dive into exploring random horror films that were retitled in some parts of the world as "sequels" in the Zombi franchise. It's been quite a journey going over these films, so the final two that Bede is looking at are definitely an interesting way to end this subject on. For this episode, Bede delves into Frankenstein's Army director Richard Raaphorst's 1995 short film Zombi 1 and Variant a.k.a. Zombie VIII: Variant from indie filmmaker Joe Meredith.
Joining Bede to discuss these final two unofficial Zombi sequels is returning guest Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network). Highlights include Bede & Marcus wonder if both films are style over substance, why do both films have a scene where zombies are obsessed with a certain female body part?, enjoying the homages in Zombi 1, praising the shot-on-video style of Variant and so much more.

Welcome to the episode 6 of Bede & Sam Vs. The Video Nasties.
So far for the podcast, most of the films that your hosts Bede Jermyn & Sam Inglis have tackled from the Section 1 DDP have been films that were released in the '70s and '80s. Which is understandble given that violence, sex and gore had become a bit more extreme during those decades in film. However back in the early '60s, filmmaker Herschell Gordon Lewis (The Wizard Of Gore, Two Thousand Maniacs!) challeneged cinema's approach to onscreen violence with his landmark 1963 indie splatter film Blood Feast.
Joining Bede & Sam to discuss this very bloody influential bit of cinema is first-time guest John Seavey (Half Price Horror). Highlights include how John first became aware of the Video Nasties, the hilarious bad performances from the cast, Bede being amazed how a film this gory came out in 1963, praise the film's low budget charm, wonder if Mal Arnold's performance was inspired by Bela Lugosi and so much more.

Welcome to episode 54 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
After starting the year off with the Tubi original Night Of The Living Dead "spiritual" sequel Festival Of The Living Dead, your host Bede Jermyn heads back into a topic that explored during the second half of the show last year: random horror films that were retitled as "unofficial" sequels in the Zombi franchise. For this episode, Bede takes alook at filmmaker Andreas Schnaas' 1991 German shot-on-video horror film Zombie '90: Extreme Pestilence (a.k.a. Zombi 7) and the 2021 American indie horror film Zombi VIII: Urban Decay (a.k.a. Zombie Flesh Eaters 5) from low-budget schlockmaster Dustin Ferguson.
Joining Bede to discuss these two more unofficial Zombi series entries is returning guest Marcus Wilturner (writer/contributor for The Super Network). Highlights include Bede & Marcus explain why they weren't fans of either film, was Zombie '90: Extreme Pestilence made to show off gore and nothing else?, is the hilarious English dub the best part of the film?, the plothole in Zombi VIII: Urban Decay that drove Bede nuts, the one song that Marcus is obsessed with on the soundtrack and so much more.

Welcome to the episode 5 of Bede & Sam Vs. The Video Nasties.
When you look over the first DPP list, you will see that the most common genre that appears on it is the horror genre. However, horror isn't the only type of films that appear on the list. Another sub-genre that makes quite a number of appearances on the list, is one that's considered on the most controverisal genres in all of exploitation cinema: Nazisploitation. For this episode of the show, your hosts Bede Jermyn & Sam Inglis take on their first Nazisploitation from the list with the 1977 Italian film The Beast In Heat from director Luigi Batzella.
Joining Bede & Sam to discuss this infamous film, is first-time special guest Trevor Snyder (Failure To Franchise). Highlights include Trevor explains now he became aware of the Video Nasty controversy, debate whether The Beast In Heat is a truly terrible film, the hilarious dubbing, praise Macha Magall's campy villianess performance, how this film is strangely linked to a film Bede covered on his show Bede Vs. The Living Dead, wonder whether "The Beast should be in a gurning contest and so much more.
WARNING: The following episode features discussions on confronting topics such as sexual violence and assault. Listener discretion is advised.

Welcome to episode 53 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
It's back! After a six week break, the podcast is back with its long-awaited new episode, which is also its first one for 2025. Your host Bede Jermyn promises that this is going to be big year for the show when it comes to all things related to Night Of The Living Dead. For this episode to start off 2025, Bede checks out a recent film that was made to commemorate the recent 55th anniversary of the original NOTLD: the 2024 Tubi produced spiritual sequel Festival Of The Living Dead, which was directed by Jen & Sylvia Soska (American Mary, Dead Hooker In A Trunk, Rabid '19).
Joining Bede to discuss this Tubi Original film are two guests who know a thing or two about Tubi: returning guest Super Marcey (The Super Network, The Tubi Tuesdays Podcast) and first-time guest Brad A. Hargis (Old Man Brad: A Horror Podcast). Higlights include Brad talking about the first time he saw Night Of The Living Dead (1968), what makes Tubi a great streaming service, wondering if Festival Of The Living Dead needed to be a "sequel", how the characters are a mix-bag, the frustrating plotholes in the script, wondering where the security at this music festival, Marcey's hated for "Ty" ans so much more.
