Welcome to this special bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
We're now in the fourth week of October and we're getting close to the end of the podcast's Halloween Season Spectacular series. Don't worry, your host Bede Jermyn has up his sleeve in regards to what has lined up for the rest of the month. For this one, Bede is bringing you another special interview edition of the show. However, what makes this one unique is the guest who Bede has on the show is someone who has been on the podcast before.
Back on episode 38 where he discussed Zombie 5: Killing Birds, Bede was joined fillmmaker/podcaster Michael Varrati, who mentioned on it that he recently directed a horror film that was currently in post-production called There's A Zombie Outside. Now that the film has been finally been released this year, Bede invited Michael back on the show to discuss it in-depth. How did this unique zombie film come together? Well, everyone. After looking at the unofficial prequel/sequel, the two remakes and two comic books, your host Bede Jermyn has come to end of everything that's linked so far to the original 1985 version of Day Of The Dead. It has been an interesting journey to sat at least, so this episode will be a good one to end this section of the show on. For this episode, Bede takes a look at the SyFy produced 2021 TV adaptation series adaptation of Day Of The Dead, which was created by Jed Elinoff & Scott Thomas (The Banana Splits Movie, My Super Psycho Sweet 16) and featured some episodes directed by Steven Konstanski (Psycho Goreman, Leprechaun Returns).
Joining Bede to discuss this TV series is first-time guest filmmaker Paul A. Brooks (who directed the 2023 film Hunting For The Hag). Highlights include the first-time when Paul saw Night Of The Living Dead, does the Day Of The Dead story work for a TV format?, the changes the show makes to the story, the issues with the zombie make-up, the show's different takes of the DOTD characters, Bede's theories why we never saw a second season and so much more.

Welcome to episode 12.5 of Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake.
Yep, you read that correctly. This is episode 12.5. Don't worry, your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz have a good reason for that. Aftet the release of the 2009 reboot of Friday The 13th, another entry in the series was in development for a few years. However, before the film was made, an lawsuit happened between the 1980 original film's director Sean Cunningham and writer Victor Miller that sent the franchise in dormant for many years until the rights situation was settled in 2021.
Not long after that, Miller teamed up with a few producers to star a new company called Jason Un1ve3rse, which would help restart the franchise across of forms of media. First up, the company decided to reintroduce Jason Voorhees to the world again by making a short film called Sweet Revenge, which was written & directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn '21, Silent Night Deadly Night '25) and sponsored by the cider company Angry Orchard. Since it's not a feature-length film or TV show, your hosts decided to call this episode 12.5.
Joining your hosts to discuss this stand-alone short F13 entry are returning guest filmmaker Adrien Castro & first-time guest for the show Doug Tilley (Cinema Smorgasbord, No-Budget Nightmares). Highlights in this episode include Doug discussing the first Friday The 13th film that he saw, who liked the short film way more than the others?, was the product placement really all that distracting?, Bede's theory how the short is linked to Mike P. Welcome to a special bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
We'll, it now is officially October, which means that Halloween season has begun. Your host Bede Jermyn has a lot of exiciting stuff coming up for both this show and the other podcasts on the BVTLD network in honour of this month. For this very first one for the BVTLD Halloween Season Spectacular, Bede has something pretty amazing for all of you.
At the time of release of this episode, it is October 1st, which means that today marks the 57th anniversary of the release of the original Night Of The Living Dead. Bede wanted to do something special in celebration of this event. For this bonus episode, Bede interviewed Judith O'Dead, who played the iconic role of "Barbra" in the 1968 version of Night Of The Living Dead. That's right, everyone. Barbra herself chatting to Bede about her role as the iconic character in the film and the legacy that followed. To say that Bede was estactic to talk to her, is a massive understatment. Definitely give it a listen to hear how it all went!

After Avatar Press finished releasing their comic books centred around the world of Night Of The Living Dead in the mid-2010s, fans were curious to see which comic company would take on NOTLD in that media. They didn't have to wait too long because Double Take Comics, a partner of the video game company Take Two Interactive, took the reigns and relauched the comic side of the franchise. However, their approach was to release 10 seperate NOTLD comics that could be read co-currently at the same time. On this episode of the podcast, your host Bede Jermyn takes a look at one the first ones to be made: the2015 5 issue mini-series Rise.

Welcome to episode 65 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead.
After the 2008 remake of Day Of The Dead failed to strike a cord with critics and horror fans when it was released straight-to-DVD, you would think the DOTD rights holders Taurus Entertainment and the film's production company Millennium Media would have been deterred by the reaction it recieved. However, as the old saying goes: first you don't succeed, try again. 9 years later, the two companies decided to team up to remake DOTD once more with the 2017 film Day Of The Dead: Bloodline, which directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens (The Corpse Of Anna Fritz).
Joining Bede to discuss this second remake of Day Of The Dead are returning guests Marcus Wilturner (The Super Network) & Doug Tilley (Cinema Smorgasbord, No-Budget Nightmares). Romero's third entry in his Dead series Day Of The Dead would also recieve the remake treatment from Hollywood as well. Horror fans didn't have to wait that long, as it was released a few years later.
