In a world that's been getting faster, when you feel like you're getting swept away just keeping up, there are things you can do to help take back control.
People struggle to slow down because education and workplace cultures reinforce that what you do is 'never enough' unless you're working to max capacity 24:7.
Even if it makes us feel on fire in the short term, fires need fuel and oxygen to burn so if you don't take time for self-care you will burn out.
Implications of living life in the busy cult:
- not present in the moment
- lose focus on dreams and health
- spend more time outdoors, use your senses to notice the little things
- create time to plan and set priorities
- clear clutter and noise (distractions)
- spend time with people and listen to what they have to say
