When I visited New York, I travelled to Brooklyn to experience HumorVille, an extraordinary world created by Reverend Barbara Ann Michaels, the Jester of the Peace.
I left with a passport full of stamps, a letter from a stranger and a fresh perspective on love, abundance and the power of sharing our stories.
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, Barbara and I explore the philosophy behind HumorVille, her "tourist attraction for your heart".
Visitors move through a marriage bureau, post office, library and voting booth, choosing what they want to explore. I chose love and abundance. I married them, became their president and reflected on how readily I give to others while overlooking myself, and how building a business can narrow our view of the abundance already in our lives.
What intrigued me was how something so playful could open up such personal reflections. There was no prescribed journey or expectation of what I should discover. Barbara had created an environment where people could explore their own stories, connect with strangers and experience what it means to feel genuinely seen and celebrated.
At the Love Letter Lounge, I received words from someone I'd never met: "Go where the joy is and go there often. And remember to live in love out loud."
Barbara describes a journey from the human condition to the humour condition. The first laugh after adversity creates a little space around pain; eventually, the story we can tell may offer someone else hope. Humour isn't about laughing at people or rushing through grief. It's about laughing with life. As Barbara says, "No humour, no wellness."
Her work also raises an important leadership question: why do we expect people to leave their humanity at the workplace door? What if we celebrated the people who create connection as much as those who deliver results?
For me, HumorVille is a living example of how designing for play, expression and participation can change how we live, lead and connect.

What if the greatest constraint on high performance is our biological capacity to sustain what we're asking of ourselves?
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, I connected with Alessandra Edwards, C-suite performance advisor, keynote speaker and author of The DNA of Performance, to explore how biology influences the way we lead, make decisions and navigate business.
After 17 years advising senior leaders behind closed doors, Alessandra is bringing her work into a wider conversation about the human capacity required to turn capability into meaningful performance.
We invest heavily in leadership skills and strategic thinking, yet how often do we consider whether people have the physical, emotional and psychological reserves to access those capabilities?
Alessandra described her experience of being a “Supernova”: capable of extraordinary periods of achievement, followed by significant crashes. Her description of “borrowing against my future self energy” resonated with me.
After returning from overseas, I recognised familiar patterns of overwork in my own business. I reduced podcast production and cleared commitments to create more space for the strategic work Bee Formless™ needed from me.
We explored Alessandra's three dimensions of personal energy—rhythm, quality and stress response—and how self-knowledge can help us recognise patterns before they become unsustainable.
Our conversation also raised a question about organisational performance. The capacity a leader brings into a room influences relationships, decisions, culture and the people bringing business strategy to life.
At 53, after six years writing her book, Alessandra is navigating her own shape shift, moving from advising leaders privately to sharing her knowledge more visibly.

What happens when the life you've worked so hard to build no longer reflects what matters most?
I first met Lekha Vyas in New York over a margarita. When we reconnected for this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, we explored grief, ambition, identity and the experiences behind the businesses we create.
Lekha is a second-time founder and CEO of Synq Wellness. Over 15 years, she helped build global beauty brands including L'Oréal, Chanel, Estée Lauder and JLo Beauty. She knew the world of prestige, corporate paycheques and spontaneous weekends in Paris. Then her mother was diagnosed with cancer, changing her relationship with success and what she valued.
While caring for her mother, Lekha witnessed how difficult it was to provide nutrients to someone struggling to swallow. Discovering oral dissolving strip technology eventually helped inspire Synq Wellness.
Her mother had always wanted her to become a doctor. Lekha found another way to pursue that desire to help people.
What fascinated me was the connection between the woman building the business and the business itself.
Lekha spoke openly about how losing her mother changed her relationship with money, possessions and time. Dinner with her dad now means more than the lifestyle she once chased. She described becoming more resilient, less concerned with others' opinions and more willing to ask for what her business needs.
We explored a striking tension: after years in beauty, Lekha is developing wellness products in a culture where pressure to be thin is intensifying. Her first planned product, Synq Burn, is an oral dissolving strip designed for weight management. We discussed changing beauty expectations, wellness innovation and her ambitions for a broader brand.
When I asked what she'd tell aspiring entrepreneurs, Lekha challenged the idea that founders should sacrifice their entire lives to succeed. She spoke about living fully, finding support and recognising those who believe in us.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
Lekha spent years shaping the identities of global beauty brands. Losing her mother profoundly reshaped her own. Synq Wellness connects her lived experience, commercial expertise and personal values with a new vision of what she wants to contribute. It's where leadership, strategy, business and brand evolve together.

What happens to the rebel within us as life reshapes who we are?
At 32, Elena Ginali has evolved from a rebellious young woman in corporate finance to a single mother and entrepreneur, developing a refreshing perspective on ambition, finding her voice and redefining success.
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, I connected with Elena, Founder and CEO of Advance Edge Consulting, to explore identity, financial leadership, business evolution and the relationship between our personal experiences and the businesses we build.
Early in her corporate career, Elena heard advice that helped her learn to speak up: “Never dim your light for anyone.”
She described learning to channel her rebellious nature into curiosity, confidence and the courage to challenge assumptions. That ability to recognise patterns now shapes her work as a fractional CFO and business coach.
Elena shared how she helped a company grow from 5 million to 63 million using its own resources. We explored why financial results reflect decisions made throughout a business, from sales and operations to people and strategy, and why a CFO needs to understand the whole organisation.
I was particularly interested in her perspective on the CEO–CFO relationship: how cash flow, forecasting and financial visibility give founders greater confidence to make decisions and prepare for uncertainty.
Motherhood also reshaped Elena's relationship with ambition. After years of long working days, she began building a team and a business that would give her more time with her children, while creating opportunities for other founders.
We talked about protecting energy, finding clarity in the mountains, choosing which opportunities deserve our attention and recognising when it's time to close one door to open another.
Towards the end, I asked what she would tell her younger, more rebellious self, “Life will humble you, definitely.”
Her reflections on learning to work with others, recognising their needs and continuing to evolve brought our conversation full circle.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
Elena's rebellion has evolved into discernment, confidence and a more conscious way of leading. Her personal journey and financial work share a common thread: seeing what lies beneath the surface, connecting patterns and creating the conditions for better decisions. It's where leadership, strategy, business and brand meet.

What happens when the business you're building to create greater freedom starts asking you to become someone you're not?
For Stephen Dale, Founder of Vendorapp, leaving a successful international technology career meant solving a problem he'd encountered repeatedly while reclaiming control of his time and being more present with his family.
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, we explored his transition from technical expert to founder, the realities of business growth and the connection between leadership, strategy, business and authentic personal brand.
Across global financial institutions including Citi and Goldman Sachs, Stephen encountered fragmented vendor systems, overlooked contracts and costly inefficiencies. At one startup, he identified more than 500 active vendors with little clarity over who managed them. He built Vendorapp to simplify vendor risk management, compliance and audit readiness.
However, building the product was only the beginning. Stephen assumed customers would arrive once he launched, then discovered an unfamiliar world of marketing, positioning and sales.
Our conversation took an unexpected turn when he described replacing a joyful LinkedIn photograph with his son with a polished corporate headshot, following advice about how a founder should look. Even his smile had been adjusted with AI.
“I have always been me.”
I challenged Stephen to reconnect that personal story with his business. He'd created Vendorapp to help organisations cut through complexity and reclaim time, while his own decision to become a founder was driven by wanting more time with his family.
Those motivations were connected, and his personality didn't need to disappear to establish commercial credibility.
We also explored the financial pressure of three years building a business, his changing definition of success and his concerns about the future of technology. By the end, Stephen agreed to change his LinkedIn photograph back.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
Stephen's story reveals what becomes possible when a founder's lived experience, commercial purpose and brand are considered together. The opportunity isn't to manufacture a professional identity, but to connect who you are with the problem your business solves.

How much of the way we think, feel and function is being shaped by environments we're barely conscious of? For Ozge Fettahlioglu, that connection emerged during her sister's cancer treatment, when a single Monet painting offered comfort amid the stark hospital surroundings. That experience sparked a deeper exploration of how the spaces around us influence our internal world.
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, I connected with Ozge, neuroarchitect, author and Founder of Cocoplum Design Studio and Boxareno, to explore neuroscience, biophilic design and how our environments influence human wellbeing, creativity, business performance and long-term value.
Ozge describes neuroarchitecture as a kind of background software, with our brains constantly scanning light, sound, temperature and our surroundings, influencing how we feel and respond before we're consciously aware of it.
“Environment is like micro tax you're paying continuously.”
That observation opened up a fascinating connection for me between our external environments and our internal experience. How much of our energy, focus and capacity is being influenced by conditions we've simply learned to accept?
We explored the commercial implications of designing around human behaviour rather than following trends, including how hospitality environments can influence guest experience and asset performance.
What particularly interested me was Ozge's ambition to bring these principles into hospitals, affordable housing and community spaces, where the potential to influence wellbeing and connection extends far beyond commercial returns.
We also discussed active recovery, her technology-free beach house and why the environments we intentionally create may become increasingly important as our lives become more connected and demanding.
Her book, Designing for Health and Wealth, brings these ideas together, exploring architecture as a long-term investment in health, performance and value.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
Ozge's work challenges us to rethink design as something far more influential than aesthetics. When we understand how our environments shape our internal experience, we can create spaces that support human capacity, strengthen business performance and contribute to healthier communities.

What happens when the capital meant to accelerate your business starts driving decisions that undermine its future?
Tushar Kansal has spent his career connecting founders with investors, yet his perspective on funding growth might surprise you.
“Somebody has to fund the growth. It better be a customer rather than investor.”
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Conversation, I connected with Tushar, Founder and CEO of Kansaltancy Ventures, to explore venture capital, founder mindset and the interconnected relationship between leadership, strategy, business and brand.
Drawing on his experience across financial advisory, venture capital and corporate finance, Tushar established Kansaltancy Ventures in 2016, building an international network connecting founders with capital and strategic opportunities.
One story particularly captured my attention, a pet food business was struggling with working capital despite growing demand. By negotiating upfront payments from a major delivery platform in exchange for a small discount, the founder unlocked the cash flow needed to expand.
It highlighted how reshaping a commercial relationship can sometimes create more opportunity than another funding round.
We discussed why founders need to think differently from investors, how financial pressure can lead to micromanagement and why the decisions that matter most aren't always the most obvious.
I particularly loved Tushar's suggestion to leave an empty chair at team meetings to represent the customer.
It sparked a conversation about making customers visible in business decisions and something I feel strongly about: building financial and commercial understanding across teams so everyone can contribute with greater accountability.
We also went into patient capital, and the pressures of rapid growth, founder wellbeing and the importance of culture in building a sustainable business.
Our discussion about personal brand added another dimension, challenging the assumption that every founder needs visibility and exploring why genuine expertise and discernment matter.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
Tushar challenges the idea that securing capital equals creating value. Sustainable growth comes from stronger commercial decisions, empowered teams and building a business that customers want to support.

Amy Fregosi was considering giving up on her interior design business when a project she'd created won two awards.
Amy hadn't even gone to the ceremony. At the time, she was questioning whether she was good enough to continue...
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO conversation, I connected with Amy, Founder and Principal Designer of Mondolfo Interior Design, to explore how the spaces we inhabit shape our lives, and what happens when a creative founder begins redesigning her own business.
Amy's instinct for design appeared early. As a child, she built furniture from scraps of wood, yet it took years to trust the calling that others could already see in her. Even the name Mondolfo carries a story: it comes from her grandmother's hometown in Italy.
One of my favourite moments was an Italian saying Amy shared: “Too many things occupy your soul.”
We were talking about the objects we keep, the memories attached to them and how clearing a space can change how we feel. I found myself thinking about the responsibilities and assumptions we accumulate in business, long after they've stopped helping us grow.
Amy recognised that she'd reached her own capacity. She couldn't carry every detail and still create the future she imagined for Mondolfo.
She has begun bringing others into the business, including her son, whose technical skills and fresh perspective have surprised her. Giving him room to contribute is also giving Amy room to think, build partnerships and explore new directions.
Amy calls entrepreneurship being “forged by fire”. After navigating a difficult period and making changes she'd once resisted, she said she finally felt like a true entrepreneur.
We talked about why that shift requires more than operational change. As Amy put it, our personal and business lives aren't compartmentalised. What we avoid confronting within ourselves can shape the limits we place on our businesses.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
Amy designs spaces around the people who live in them. Now she's bringing that same intention to the business she leads: understanding what needs to function, releasing what no longer fits and creating room for others to grow. Her move from creative founder towards visionary CEO is as much an inner redesign as a business one.
LEARN: DIAGNOSE • UNDERSTAND • SUBTRACT • CHALLENGE

In this episode of the Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Podcast, I connected with Chris Christofi, Founder and CEO of Reventon, entrepreneur, property investor, philanthropist and host of RELENTLESS: Life On Your Terms, for a conversation about adversity, ambition and the person we become through both.
Chris became a multimillionaire in his early twenties, then lost everything at 24. Carrying $348,000 in debt and back living with his parents, bankruptcy was an option, but Chris saw debt as a promise to repay and wanted to show his son that quitting wasn’t. More than two decades later, the business he began from his parents’ home has become something much bigger.
What interested me was Chris’s willingness to talk about the cost as well as the success. He describes himself as relentless, yet doesn’t believe more hours should automatically be the goal. His distinction between work-life balance and “work-life choices” raised a much more interesting question: what are we consciously choosing to give our energy to, and why?
We explored how Chris leads through empathy and intuition, his commitment to getting 1% better every day, and why uncomfortable feedback is often where he finds the greatest opportunity to evolve. At 46, he expects the version of himself at 50 to be better again.
Spiritual growth is part of that evolution too. Chris shared how returning to church during one of his hardest periods gave him somewhere to ask for patience, initially one week at a time, and how that inner work began flowing into the way he showed up as a father, CEO and human being.
Underneath the awards, property, business growth and philanthropy was a philosophy I loved: “earn more to give more.” For Chris, success and contribution are not separate, and neither are adversity and growth.
THE SHAPE SHIFT IN MOTION
This conversation was a reminder that growth is not about avoiding adversity. It is about what we choose to build from it.
This is how it unfolded through the formless™ methodology:
LEARN (LETTING GO)
✨ Working harder is not the same as working more effectively.
✨ Everything we build comes with choices about where our energy goes.
✨ Adversity can reveal a version of us we have not met yet.
UNLEARN (CREATE, REIMAGINE & RESHAPE)
✨ Replace work-life balance with conscious work-life choices.
✨ Seek the uncomfortable feedback rather than avoiding it.
✨ Let success become a vehicle for contribution, not simply accumulation.
RELEARN (TEST & IMPLEMENT)
✨ Look for the 1% improvement available today.
✨ Understand when and how your people perform at their best.
✨ Keep evolving the person behind the business.
ACTIVE RECOVERY (REFLECT & RESET)
✨ Where are you being asked to become uncomfortable?
✨ What deserves more of your energy right now?
✨ What could the next version of you do differently?

Fashion was Shanya Suppasiritad's armour long before it became the industry she set out to reshape.
Growing up in Thailand, Shanya faced criticism about her skin colour, weight and appearance. Fashion became her way of expressing herself and building confidence on her own terms.
Years later, after discovering the environmental and human impact of the fashion industry, she began questioning something that had been so important to her identity.
How could fashion continue to empower people without perpetuating harm?
In this Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO conversation, I connected with Shanya, Founder and CEO of Revibe, to explore the relationship between personal identity, business innovation and challenging an industry's assumptions about growth.
Through Revibe, Shanya helps fashion brands integrate rental, resale and repair, extending the life of garments while creating new revenue opportunities and customer relationships.
Our discussion about brand ownership was particularly interesting.
Fashion brands carefully shape the experience of buying something new, yet often lose control of that experience in the secondary market. Shanya shared how a luxury garment can arrive beautifully presented when first purchased, only to be delivered in cheap plastic packaging when resold.
The product hasn't changed, although the brand experience has.
We explored how this connects to personal and business brands, customer relationships and opportunities to create value long after the first sale.
Shanya also shared the challenges of building a new category, navigating investor expectations and finding ways to communicate opportunities others may not yet recognise.
She was candid about questioning whether to continue, including her husband's question: “Are you still having fun?”
Her journey reveals how identity, leadership and business transformation continually shape one another.

It’s where Soulful High-Flow Conscious Leadership™ comes to life. Where commercial reality and conscious, human intelligence can coexist. Where Flow matters, without becoming another thing to chase. And where being formless creates the space for a new form to emerge.
Since February 2025, I’ve had 400+ conversations with founders, CEOs and leaders around the world, creating an ongoing source of intelligence around the patterns, tensions and shape shifts emerging across leadership, strategy, business and brand.
Formless is the space between the form you have outgrown and the one you have not stepped into yet.
These are conversations from inside that space.
