This week Paul and Phil get out to visit Long Island City based Big aLICe Brewing. They talk to co-founder/brewer Kyle and assistant brewer Jon about the history of Big aLICe and operating a brewery in New York City, and how some new state laws have affected their growth. It's an excellent conversation with a lot of information about not only Big aLICe but the craft beer industry in general. Though they were famous for starting small; Big aLICe has quickly become a destination for any beer lover in or around New York.

When craft brewers fight, The Beer Friends are torn. It’s only Paul and Graham this week and they go back and forth over some legal issues between craft breweries. First they discuss Bell’s Brewery versus Innovation Brewing in a trademark dispute over one of Bell’s slogans. Next they discuss the Lawsuit levied by Lagunitas at Sierra Nevada that was dropped in a day. Last year was a banner year for craft beer and big beer is terrified. This is starting to manifest itself in a couple anti craft beer ads that have landed in rather prevalent spots. The newest commercial hits pretty close to home taking place during New York City Beer Week. Paul and Phil watch this and react before the conversation moves on to other commercials that we've seen this year.
