This week is one of those weeks where this show allows me the chance to unload a bit. I’ve been feeling a little “put off” by the lack of care that has been put into too many beers these days, and over a pint of Tsingtao – very NOT local – I’m going to let loose. We’ll drink a little rum first, and then we’ll dive into it all. Of course, we’ll hit some of the other local news, like the return of Misrule Brewing and some hard soda hitting one of our local taprooms.
It’s a great episode if you ask me!

We keep hearing it repeatedly: the future of breweries lies in the neighborhood spots. Lebanon Brewing Company understands that very well, and when they opened their space last year, they worked their butts off to become part of Lebanon in every way possible.
On this week’s episode, I headed up to Lebanon to chat with owner/brewer Jake Borsvold about how all of those pieces come together for them. We spend some time learning how Jake’s story got him to where he’s at, now – and of course drinking a few beers along the way, too!
If you are curious about Lebanon Brewing Company, make sure you follow them on Facebook and Instagram – but more importantly – make sure you visit them at 20 W Silver Street in Lebanon, Ohio.
Oh, boy. This is one of those days. I’m stressed and beat up from battling more technical difficulties on the podcast side of my life. I’m grumpy. When you boil it all down, though – that’s why this show exists. It’s an excuse to drink together and enjoy a few minutes of sanity in an otherwise “not so much” life. With all of that being said, this week, we tackled a few big topics:

A “bottle show” is a television industry term. These “bottle episodes” are episodes of a scripted series that takes place entirely on the primary set of the show. There’s no location shooting, no additional sets, guest actors, extras, or anything else.
That’s precisely what this episode of Cincy Brewcast is. The last couple of weeks have been BUSY! We’ve been running all of Cincinnati doing shows on location, live events, and fun stuff. It’s time to take a brief respite and get back to the “roots.” Just the three of us tasting and talking beer (and other stuff, too) all from the friendly confines of the CBC studios high atop Mt. Carmel.
We talked about Mike’s brief weekend trip to “Beer City, USA”, Asheville, North Carolina, and taste a few things that he brought back. We discussed the online “would you rather” Cincinnati beer quiz from WCPO.com and roll through this week’s edition of ‘Asked and Answered.’
If we could “bottle” this up and give it to you, we certainly would!
It’s a big move for the tiny DogBerry Brewing in West Chester. Not only are they leaving their local-loved taproom behind, but the brewery is growing ten-fold in their production size. It’s a choice that leaves a lot of questions for a lot of folks, and we set out this week to answer them all.
Sitting down with owners Tony Meyer and Chris Frede we try to get a picture at what this all means for DogBerry and for how they hope to take what they’ve learned so far to make their taproom even better than ever!
We also talk about Cincinnati Beer Week, and the upcoming collaboration… it’s an action-packed episode!
