From the formation of Brisbane’s Decipher to joining Shin Ki Row and becoming a full time, touring member of the Resin Dogs, DNO’s had a career of highlights and is one of the country’s foundation MC’s.

We are honoured to be joined by Ironlak team member and Australian graffiti legend, Reals for the 67th instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz.

Back for his second appearance - but his first time solo - we talk some of Realsy’s latest walls before getting into a great conversation about his history, aliases and many achievements.

From his recent contribution to the Spraycan Art commemoration wall and all the way back to his early days as a member of THC, we get a candid glimpse into the yards, cars and numerous walls this local genius created.

This episode is a ripper, from his earliest influences growing up in Woodridge through to the impact of THC, the formation of TBK, Writers Anon, developing his own Ironlak colour and more stories than he’s shared anywhere else ever.

MC, DJ, producer and legendary figure within the Brisbane hip hop community, Rainman joined us to breakdown some of his highlights from a career spent in the trenches of the local scene.

From helming one of Brisbane’s most celebrated open mic, hip hop nights in the early 2000’s to releasing albums, moving around the city and the crews and influences that would shape his social conscious and music.

We are stoked to be joined by Australian hip hop’s premier photographer, Michelle Grace Hunder for the 65th instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz.

From her early days growing up in Shepparton and how a friendship with Briggs led to her discovering local hip hop music, Michelle charts her career in photography and so much more.

A photographer, film producer, radio host and creative visionary, Michelle talks everything from her seminal documentation of Australian hip hop, Rise to her celebration of women in music, Her Sound Her Story.

We talk everything from intuitiveness and technicality, individual photos and the stories behind them, to her work being included in the National Sound and Film Archive.

It’s an honour to be joined by B-Boy Allstar and pioneering writer Peter Frickman for the 64th instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz.

A pioneer of breakdancing and graffiti in Australia, Peter Frickman aka Madhouse is a legend of the scene and shares some classic stories with us via Skype.

From the formation of the B-Boy Allstars and the story behind some of the earliest graffiti in Brisbane on to designing the Hype Mag logo, album covers and more random memories than you can poke a stick at.

From his roots in bands to investing in streetwear and production equipment and on to his role in the 750 Rebels, Overproof Pete has played a pivotal role in the development of culture in Brisbane, and by way of that Australia.

Between it all we get into the work Peter has done under numerous aliases, his production as Brookes Cullings - specifically handling all production duties on Jake Biz’s Commercial Hell and his work shooting videos as Heathen Steelburg.

Ep.60 - Mr Nobody featuring Maundz

We are absolutely honoured to be joined by The Queen of culture in this country, Sharline Bezzina aka Spice for the 59th instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz.

From founding breakdancing crews with her older brother in the early 80’ to being one of the first women painting Sydney’s train lines and on to being pressed to wax, Spice is our matriarch.

A determined and ambitious woman, Spice breaks down the debilitating health issues she’s been suffering with over the past 6 years and then gives us an unparalleled view into the foundations of hip hop culture in Sydney.

She appeared on the first hip hop compilation out of Australia, Down Under By Law, performed on ABC’s afternoon show, supported Ice T at his request, developed and pushed style as a writer and even named a few Def Wish Cast songs.

This episode is a classic, with Spice being open and candid about her many achievements, from introducing Sereck to the 808 drum machine and developing her own style, being involved n print media and running a radio show, this episode is one for the history books.

Thank you to Spice for taking the time and persevering through her own pain and with us through a few early technical difficulties - an amazing woman who’s contributions and history are parallel with the development of hip hop in Australia.

We don’t exist without the contributions that Spice made.
