Halloween 2024 is in just two days, so to ring in the end of spooky season we are talking about a case that has become infamous for its association with Halloween. Taking place in Old Hollywood during the 1950s, this case would shock the entire country as a beloved family man is gunned down by a trick or treater right on his front porch. Although the search for his killer does end with success, when their motive is revealed it adds more questions than answers.

The HIV/AIDS Epidemic was a very dark chapter in Queer History that continues to haunt the community to this day. But although HIV is no longer a death sentence, the stigma and negative feelings towards the illness still remain prominent in and out of the Queer community. This case is an extreme example of how these negative myths towards people with HIV caused one man to become a serial killer, hellbent on murdering every gay man he could find.
