I am blessed to be growing with our 3rd baby 💛🌈

Celebrating this new life growing within me is easy. Sharing it with others has been challenging.

Holding both pregnancy and grief is not new to me.

Otto was conceived shortly after Shelby’s death, my sister. And this baby shortly after Faye’s death, my angel baby. 

The joy of a new life does not fix, make up for, or change the loss of another life. A new life does not replace life that has come before it.

(I did not fully understand this until I experienced the unexpected death of Shelby & then a different version of it with the stillbirth of Faye)

The darkness still comes in waves and I am reminded it is not an end. It is the door that is opening me up to my new beginning. 

I have felt grounded on my journey; embracing the waves of grief, the unknowns, the joys, the fears, and my ability to carry what cannot be fixed.

The spiritual work required in pregnancy after loss is unique to each mama 🤍 thank you to everyone in my life that has helped me through this journey so far.
