Behind the Line

This week in What's Real/What's Fake:

Is it time for the New England Patriots to panic? With two straight poor performances by Cam Newton...is Bill Belichick beginning to regret pushing Tom Brady out the door?

Who is the worst team in the NFL? The New York Jets...Jacksonville Jaguars...or Dallas Cowboys?

Will Baker Mayfield and Joe Burrow become the next great quarterback rivalry in the NFL?

Ryan Fitzpatrick walked into work Tuesday morning and learned that his head coach Brian Flores was benching him to start the future in Miami with Tua Tagovailoa. Obviously Fitzpatrick took the news hard...and gave an emotional speech at a press conference...for which he's now being criticized.

We explain why starting Tua over Ryan Fitzpatrick at this point is a mistake by Brian Flores. With the Dolphins in the playoff hunt...and with a chance to win the AFC East...the timing isn't right to make this kind of decision. Fitzpatrick is also playing some of the best football of his career.

We also criticize the media and fans on Twitter for being critical of the reaction of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Just as the NFL seems to be trying to wipe away the self-inflicted political stain that imposed on themselves over the summer and into Week 1...Joe Buck and Troy Aikman put the stain right back on the league.

During the pregame flyover for Sunday's game between the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers...Joe Buck and Troy Aikman made some controversial comments about the military flyover.

We look into the comments...and the excuse being made by the mainstream sports media that Buck and Aikman are being setup to look bad. We give our opinion on this issue...and explain why this is likely to have little impact on the NFL's television ratings.

There are currently three quarterbacks in the NFL who are taking the brunt of the heat from the fans and media for their team's failures...when it's not entirely their fault.

We explain why Carson Wentz...Andy Dalton...and Josh Allen should be given a break by fans and the media.

We're six weeks into the NFL season...and the ratings are declining with each passing week. Though there have been a few increases for the NFL here and there...overall the ratings for the 2020 season are down between 5-15 percent.

With the NFL being far less political than the NBA...and removing politics altogether since Week 1...why are the ratings declining every week? We offer our theory as to why this is happening...and when the NFL could recover.

We believed before the NFL season started that Baker Mayfield had 4-6 weeks to prove himself to Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland. After six weeks of inconsistent and sometimes poor play...it seems Stefanski's patience is starting to run out.

Case Keenum was inserted into the game in the fourth quarter Sunday in the Browns' loss to the Steelers. Was it because of Mayfield's rib injury...or was this a warning from Stefanski to Mayfield? Or...perhaps both?

In our What's Real/What's Fake segment this week:

Cam Newton says it's not time to panic in New England

Will Kirk Cousins finish this season as the Vikings quarterback if interceptions continue?

Nick Foles is saving the Chicago Bears season

2020 has been a tough year for New Orleans Saints star receiver Michael Thomas. After a record breaking season in 2019...he's only played in one game this season due to injury.

However...Thomas was out last Monday night against the Chargers because of a fight he was involved in during practice. Sean Payton decided it was time to send a message to his best offensive player.

The question is...is this a one-time mistake for Michael Thomas...or a developing pattern of behavior?

NFL and college football season is the favorite time of year for many Americans. Whether you follow your favorite team...fantasy football...gambling...football is the favorite sport for many of us.

However...we aren't allowed to enjoy this season like we have in the past. ESPN and the woke sports media is constantly trying to cancel football season because of the "pandemic".

We look into the hypocrisy of the sports media...and explain how they're speaking out of both sides of their mouth. Personalities like Max Kellerman are calling for college football to be canceled...and is predicting the NFL won't finish the 2020 season.

We analyze the tanking ratings of ESPN and Fox Sports 1...and outline how we are in the midst of a seismic change in media in this country.

LeBron James won his fourth title Sunday night...and his first with the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately for LeBron...no one cared.

The 2020 NBA Finals was the lowest rated in the history of the league. We dive into why the ratings for the elimination Game 6 were so low...and how the woke media continues to cover for the NBA.

Also...we get into the ridiculous GOAT conversation between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. We explain why LeBron doesn't even belong in the conversation...and the reason why.

The New Orleans Saints won another ugly game Monday night against rookie quarterback Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Drew Brees once again dug his team into a double digit deficit with another slow start and untimely interception.

The Saints were Superbowl contenders coming into the season. However...with Drew Brees seemingly aging before our eyes...are the Saints still one of the top teams in the NFC?

We go over several of the problems with the New Orleans Saints. We explain why Drew Brees is the reason they've won the past two weeks...and go into detail why he's struggling right now. We also explain why Saints fans won't be seeing Jameis Winston anytime soon.
