I took an abrupt hiatus and in this episode I talk about why. The short answer: I didn't feel I was inspiring and had nothing to say. Sometimes we just need a break. I fill you guys in on my on going pelvic floor journey and the fact that I have a new outlook on things. I also share why I started the podcast and what I strive to do!
There is also a bit of a rant about Matthew Perry's new book. I am deeply disappointed in his portrayal of having an ostomy and in my opinion, what he says is not true. Or at least NEVER happened to me. Ostomies save lives and it saved his. Are they pleasant? NO! But as person who has had one and for a long time had a lot of shame around it, I don't want the IBD community to take a step back because a celebrity gave a horrific account of what he said happened to him. I'm sure everything he wrote, he feels deeply, but as someone who has been in the IBD community for over 30 years and speaking to a lot of people, some of the things he says in untrue. If you are a fan of his, maybe skip the end!
