HAPPY FRIDAY FRIENDS
Anyone else fell like it has been the longest week in history? Between Daylight Savings and the election this week has been 4 years long and we are here to take you away from reality with meaningless conversation and laughs for the next 40ish minutes.
This week we are chatting about:
- Toni-ann still does not understand Daylight Savings, and why hasn't the bill to eliminate it still not passed?
- Toni-ann's second NYC Marathon Sunday
- Social Media has ruined reality TV dating shows
- Liam Payne's Death (3 weeks late)
- Jason Kelce harassed by fans at College Gameday
- Being Friends Fantasy Football Week
We hope this episode and chaos can bring you some laughs this week.
As always thanks for Being Our Friend!
Happy Friday and Happy November all!
This week we are bringing you our usual chaos and self-inflicting injuries to talk about, along with a lot of other random thoughts. Like we said last week, getting back into non baseball topics might take a couple episodes but we tried and here's the run down:
- Jess falls down the stairs for our latest self-inflicted injury (this should be a segment at this point)
- Halloween Plans
- TV watch List: Jess is preparing to watch The OC along with all the streaming shows she's missed the past few years.
- The World Series is happening and we are giving an update and our hope (which spoiler alert came true) that the Dodgers will beat the Yankees, and so we can all start the countdown to next season.
Thanks for giving us a listen, and thanks for being our friend!
Well Friends, unfortunately the time has come - the Mets lost to the Dodgers in the NLCS, and with that, the very exciting 2024 season comes to a close. Thanks to everyone who came along for our ride of insanity!
In this episode, we'll share all our thoughts on the 2024 Mets as a whole, as well as where we go from here. But to summarize, here's your handy list of topics:
-Jess stress ordered a McFlurry and we discuss how downhill the once-favorite treat has gone.
-Jess proudly shows off her very on-theme pumpkin
-Our offseason/free agent market predictions and wishlists
-A lot of ranting about Phil Maton. Sorry not sorry. Punt that guy into the sun, please.
Towards the end, we deep dive into our explanation of why, not under ANY circumstances, will we EVER root for the New York Yankees. Not this season, not ever. If you don't get it, then you probably never will, but trust, we think we go into PLENTY of detail on exactly why we feel this way. And then maybe you will all stop asking ;)
It will be weird to not have the Mets to talk about every week now. We will have to just start thinking up more topics that entertain you all, so you keep tuning in!
Thanks everyone for listening, and being our friends!
Welcome back friends!
In this installment, we have a couple of usual ridiculous topics before we dive back into the Mets, don't worry.
Topics include:
-The Mysterious Noise that only Toni-ann seems to be concerned about in her building.
-Jess's hair has been drying really nice lately. Yes, this is a real topic.
-We dive into movies that traumatized us as millennial children. We're talking Pokemon 2000, Fox & The Hound, Hardball, Pay It Forward, but most of all: TITANIC. You're gonna have to hear the stories about this one.
And in Mets land...
-At the time of recording this, the Mets were 1-1 in the NLCS and as usual, causing us stress. Jess recounts being at the Game 4 clincher of the NLDS at home, and how her superstitions definitely helped them out. At the time of posting this, they are on the brink of elimination, but it is what it is.
-We very briefly have a Miserable Jets discussion. Coach Saleh fired, lose in rough fashion to the Bills, but hey, we just signed Davante Adams? Who knows what is going on with this team.
Thanks for tuning in!!
Well the Mets are still in it and we are not shutting up about it, so welcome to another episode of with the crazy Mets fans!
But for real, we are out of our minds - as you will hear when we disucss:
-Our superstitious tendencies
-Our excitement but natural pessimism that this season will eventually implode as it always does
-A quick break to discuss the new Netflix gem "Nobody Wants This," which leads into a discussion of all our favorite fine-aging teenage heart throbs. Also, Jess is FINALLY going to binge The OC with Toni-ann's DVD box set
-Then back to the Mets, a debate if we want Jeff McNeil back? Since this was recorded earlier in the week, we share our final thoughts before the NLDS went to Citi Field.
LFGM and thanks for Being our Friend.
Hello Friends.
We recorded this episode on Monday, BEFORE the Wild Card series started. Jess wrote the draft of this recap in the 7th inning of Game 3, right after the Brewers hit back to back HRs. You know us, we immediately assumed game over, and so she wrote, and we quote- "By the time this comes out, we are 90% sure the Mets will have been knocked out of the playoffs."
Welp, things have changed! But take a step back in time with us, and listen to us freak out about the possibilities, in today's episode.
The full rundown:
- Reply-all Emails and Offices Upgrading Technology
- A Sims movie - but maybe make it dark? ...Leading us down the rabbit hole of all the old computer games we played and how we tortured the characters in them.
- Neighborhood dog etiquette
- Fanatics is finally addressing the MLB uniform issues for next season.
- The Mets made it to the playoffs in RIDICULOUS fashion... Francisco Lindor, we love you.
One more quote from 7th inning Jess- "If the baseball season is over, thanks for joining us this year following the Miserable Mets who ruin our lives but we find the comic relief."
Looks like you gotta hear our insanity for at least another week longer! LFGM!
Thanks for being our friend!
Happy Friday Friends!
We are warning you in advance, this episode is a little disjointed, due to recording it while watching an important Mets vs. Braves game with Wild Card implications (Spoiler alert, they lost the game. Badly). There will be a few times we zone out, turn to the TV, groan, etc. While we do apologize, hopefully it also gives you a chuckle, to see how easily this team can rule and ruin our lives.
This week on the pod, we are catching up on:
- Toni-ann's trip to Napa... somehow she only brought 2 bottles of wine home?
-Jess threw a second birthday party and learned that blowing up your own balloons are harder than it seems
-The Savannah Bananas make baseball fun
-Fantasy Football, and the stresses of managing a virtual team
-And of course, the New York Mets and ALL the stress of September baseball. No jinx, but they might POSSIBLY make it to the Postseason (but we aren't getting our hopes up too much). Please send all your prayers to the Almighty Grimace we make it through!
After skipping last week, we hope you enjoy this one!
Welcome back friends!
If this week's episode title is confusing, you'll understand it as you listen/watch. We say it quite a few times, it may be our favorite phrase as of late.
Topics this week include:
-Why can't you cancel pressing buttons on an elevator?
-Why are Ubers and Lyfts becoming unreasonably priced?
-Wheel of Fortune changes and the fans (mostly Jess) are not happy.
-CONSPIRACY THEORY OF THE WEEK - Who is shopping at Mattress Firm?
-The (beginning of) the VMAs (since we were recording as it was airing)
-Jets, Mets and Fantasy Week 1 Recap
Please like, share and subscribe if you can!
Thanks for Being Our Friend.
Happy Friday Friends!
This week we brought in a Special Guest since this episode is dropping on her birthday! Toni-ann's Mom Deb joins in at the end of the episode to discuss some hot topics, but before that we have a lot to chat and rant about!
This is what we have for you this week:
-Another sprained ankle for Toni-ann, thankfully she is not suing her co-host.
-Labor Day Hot Dog eating Contest.
-Dubai Chocolate is the new trend we don't think we like
-Fantasy Football and Football is back
-A LITERAL hole in the Midtown Tunnel?
-Is doggy bag etiquette a thing?
-Do schools still have dress codes?
We hope you enjoy this week, and thanks for being our friend!
We are back after a week away and we are so happy to be here and ranting with you all!
This week we are talking about:
- How we drink our coffee, Dunkin v Starbucks
-Toni-ann's beef with NJ Transit
-Pizza, Bagels and the Mets have us never leaving the Tri-State
-Kangaroos scare Jess
-Toni-ann's thoughts on pigeons
-The Mets suck but are somehow still in contention for the Wild Card?
We are coming back hot and with A LOT of thoughts.
Thanks for Being Our Friend!
