How many times has Sarah Longacre gotten the question, “what is life like being a birth doula?" On this episode, join Sarah as she walks/talks you through 24 hours in the life of a doula. With one client laboring at the hospital, four prenatal visits with upcoming clients and yoga classes to teach, Sarah gives you a front row seat into what she loves and what stresses her about about her day-to-day life. Enjoy and let us know if this convinces you to go through doula training :)
What is life like for a 27 year old? Sarah LOVED her 20s, so she invited her life-long friend 27 year old Charlie Miller, to Belly Up with her and shed a little light on life.
This week, Belly Up with Sarah with Caitlin McGuire, founder of Bloody Awesome, an organization that works to normalize and celebrate menstruating, empowering young people. They talk about their own journeys into womanhood and how we can create a shame-free culture that educates, empowers and celebrates the transitions of life.
One of Sarah's passions is to normalize the different pathways to parenthood and to hold sacred space for all types of birth stories. On this episode of Belly Up, Sarah sits down with fellow Blooma Doula, mother of two and experienced surrogate Sarah Branion, as well as Shannon Curry, mother of two, an intended parent, and Surrogacy Educator with Conceivabilities. Hear these two parents' incredible stories and how we can support and educate each other about the different pathways to creating families.
Surrogacy and Kid Friendly Books:
Postpartum depression & anxiety are heavy subjects, however on this Episode of Belly Up we discuss this important topic, while also finding lightness. Sarah sits down with therapist Michelle & Gabe and dives into a topic that deserves more understanding, compassion and tools to prepare. They chat about the culture around postpartum and how it differs around the world, and how we can do things better here!
Change and transitions are a part of life. They may not get easier, but we can practice living with more intention and presence through all of life's ups and downs. On this episode of Belly Up, Sarah invites one of her lifelong mentors and minister, Sally Howell Johnson, to the bar to share her wisdom about moving through life's transitions (And yes, dry January so they are only drinking water).
Is this life working for you? 2022 is here… and is wondering how you are going to show up. Do you use those things called “New Year's Resolutions”? What about a FUN bucket list for 2022?
