With the Covid 19 pandemic expected to impact the upcoming NFL season the league announced several safety protocols it plans to enact. Some of these protocols are wildly inconsistent and players have been voicing displeasure. Something else the players aren't happy about, and rightfully so is the NFL owners proposed a plan to keep 35% of players 2020 salaries in escrow, in order help keep the league running while revenue is limited. This went over about as well as you could expect with the players. Find out why we dont fault them one bit. The NBA has begun to arrive at the Orlando facility where they will play the remainder of the 2020 season. The food, of all things appeared to be one of the main points of concern on day one. Plus we discuss some news and noteworthy stories from around the MLB and NFL.

On Monday Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes agreed to a 10 year contract extension.  And as expected it was the most lucrative contract in history.  We discuss some of the details of the contract, and if it may come back to bite the Chiefs down the road.  Following the Eastern Conference breakdown last episode we now move to the west.  Find out who Ben feels will be the team to beat, and if that team is good enough to go all the way.  Finally MLB released it 60 game schedule for the 2020 season on Monday.  We start off talking about it, but then veer off on a very different discussion.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a recent interview that MLB was never considering playing more than 60 games.  Which begs the question as to why the MLB sent the MLBPA countless offers of far more than 60 games.  We break down everything wrong with what Manfred said in what continues to be a problematic process for the League.  It seems that a lot of people have some major issues with Cam Newton, Chris has a few theories as to why.  But fair warning, if you are overly sensitive you may not like them.  With the NBA looking like it will restart soon and begin its march to the finals.  We thought it would be a good time to discuss who are the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference, as well as give our thoughts on a second pool of teams who may play in Chicago.

The Patriots will more than likely begin the post Tom Brady era at quarterback with former Panthers 1st overall pick Cam Newton under center.  Newton signed a 1 year incentive heavy "prove it" deal with the Patriots this past Sunday.  We break down the good and potential bad of the deal and what it may mean for the AFC East and the balance of power in the AFC.  Also, with the NBA set to finish their season and playoffs in Orlando.  State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks has found a unique use.  It is scheduled be used as a voting center for upcoming elections.  This is a great idea and another example of sporting venues being used for unique reasons during unique times.  

With the MLB announcing an agreement with the MLBPA to have a 2020 season Wednesday,  we decided to dedicate this whole episode to Baseball.  Don't worry its not another rant about how poorly both sides handled the last few months.....well not for the most part.  We dive into who will benefit the most from the shortened season, as well as each picking our division winners and AL and NL champions.  Its great to have baseball back.  Just wish it didn't take so much ugliness to get here.

There appears to be mutual interest between the Dallas Cowboys and Jets safety Jamal Adams.  Adams has stated the Cowboys are one of the teams he would like to be playing for this upcoming season assuming the Jets and Cowboys can work out a trade.  The bigger problem for Dallas however is the salary cap.  How can they afford a contract extension should a deal get done?  MLB has mandated a 60 game season and the players have been given a deadline to review and agree to the details.  One may think this means baseball returning is imminent, however that is far from a guarantee, we explain why.  Much like the NFL, future MLB free agents may find themselves getting lesser contracts than they initially thought.  This is of course do to lack of revenue during the pandemic.  We review some of the bigger names and discuss how some of them may regret not signing a bigger deal when they could have.

After a tumultuous 2019 season the Jets appeared to be on track to sign superstar safety Jamal Adams to a much deserved long term extension.  However, in a manor that only they can, the Jets have found a way to fumble the negotiations and now Adams wants out.  We discuss what this means for both sides and possible landing spots should he get traded.  It would appear that in the last few weeks the NFL has done a complete 180 on their stance toward Colin Kaepernick.  It would seem the former QB might finally get an opportunity to get back in an NFL locker room. But with all off field matters aside, how much value could he truly bring to an NFL team on the field? And finally the Yankees were very outspoken when allegations of sign stealing emerged involving the Astros and later the Red Sox.  That may appear to be biting them now as new allegations of the teams own potential misconduct may be on the verge of being exposed.

As of now the MLB owners and players have stated that they don't intend to continue negotiations for a restart to play.  This all but makes it official that we won't have baseball in 2020.  However it is looking increasingly likely that 2021 may also be in doubt.  How did things in the MLB get this bad, and is there anyway to make it better.  The NBA has voted to restart, but now some players are coming out and stating concerns over a variety of issues.  Its not the issues themselves that are getting a mixed reaction but the certain player who is bringing them up.  Find out who this player is and why we question his motives.

In continuing with recent trends, the MLB players and owners are making absolutely zero progress toward actually getting on the field for the 2020 season.  And to be honest it doesn't even appear that either side is trying cares that much at this point.  While MLB bickers like angry children, the NBA and NHL are finalizing plans to begin their restart.  We break down some of the differences between the 3 leagues and why it seems so hard for baseball to get out of their own way.
