A big week ahead so we have split into two this week.
It’s back on! A circus afternoon at Home Park and Argyle have made it to a meaningful last game of the season, for the third year running. It will need some freaky results but not the 19-0 win from last year - Archie is joined by Chris, Mark and Tom to talk it all through.
It all starts so well. A sublime pass and a perfect finish amongst one way traffic against a relegated team - and life is looking good. Until poor Conor Hazard has a rush of blood to the head, Argyle are down to ten and, not long after, it’s 1-1. Cue doom (and an impromptu quiz). Except, it wasn’t. The visitor’s goal proved to be their highlight as, for once, the ‘it’s harder against 10 men’ worked in the greens’ favor. An excellent performance from Ashby-Hammond, endless running, fluid possession and as half time approached things were feeling good again.
The second half started with a bang and another fantastic finish from the resurgent Pepple. Goals of the highest quality, with both feet: what a privilege it has been to see him play. Some late conservatism - enforced of course with 90 minutes with 10 men - but despite one moment, the result didn’t really feel in doubt. The last time we see some of those players at Home Park? Let’s wait and see.
