The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Washington Commanders 31-17 in preseason action. Joe Burrow looked sharp again, finishing 9 of 14 for 62 yards and a touchdown, while running back Chase Brown and newcomer Tajh Brooks showed flashes. Wide receiver Mitch Tinsley stole the show with 5 catches, 73 yards, and 2 touchdowns, earning praise from Burrow.

 

While the offense showed promise, the Bengals’ defense remains a major concern. Cincinnati’s first-team unit gave up two quick touchdowns, struggled against the run, and missed key tackles — a troubling sign with the regular season just weeks away. Lucas Patrick and the offensive line also continue to raise questions.

 

Jake Browning delivered a strong performance off the bench, and Evan McPherson drilled a 54-yard field goal to keep things positive. Still, with Trey Hendrickson sidelined, Al Golden’s defense must improve quickly.
