1. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory- but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him--2. You will seek Me, and will not find Me- and where I am, you cannot come--3. Woman, where are they- Did no one condemn you----4. If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine---5. He who is of God hears the words of God- for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.--6. It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents- but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.--7. If you were blind, you would have no sin- but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.--8. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me--- and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish- and no one will snatch them out of My hand.--9. I am the resurrection and the life- he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.

1. Summarizing the gospel according to John-Part 1--2. John the Apostle not a manger Apostle-but begins with Jesus as the Logos who was in the beginning with God--3. He comes to bring the new creation-turning into wine--4. One has to be born again to see the Kingdom of God and this i snot the work caused by men and is surely not caused by water baptism--5. Jesus heals the man by the pool of Bethesda and commands him to rise, pick his pallet and walk. No one can walk in Christ He commands them to rise from the deadness of their spirit.--6. God gave much witness about Christ-John the baptist, the works of Christ, the scriptures.--7. The Law gives food that leads to death not to life. Christ alone is the bread that gives life--That and more-

1. Jesus said to Simon Peter, if he loved Him -Christ- he should feed and tend to His lambs and sheep.--2. That was a very interesting testimony.--3. We explored this encounter of Jesus and Peter post Peter's denial of Christ.

1. Many professing Christians are ignorant of the truth of the human spiritual condition as God has taught it.--2. They have been falsely taught and believe that they have some capacity-ability left in them to come to God by themselves.--3. Consequently, there is taught the false doctrine of human free will to say sinners have capacity in themselves to come to Christ and to choose salvation.--4. But the testimony of the scriptures faithfully taught and believed presents a dire state of affairs, that all men are born dead in trespasses and sins and that is, without any capacity-will-desire to think things salvation as to be attracted to Christ.--5. The doctrine of human free-will is espoused by those who would try to subvert the clear scriptural teaching of God's election according to grace. They do not want God to be God.--6. And that is to say it is God alone who makes the difference between the believer and the unbeliever. God is He who causes some to believe and others to remain in their sin.--7. And without an appreciation of human inability there cannot be a true appreciation of God's grace.--8. God's grace is not given to those who have the will and ability to come to Christ, but is given to those who are bent and bowed down-with no capacity whatsoever to straighten themselves up.--9. That and more gospel testimony.

1. When Jesus gets angry at a tree--2. Why would Jesus be wrathful over a tree that is not even a moral being---3. Who is that tree and what is that testimony that makes Jesus angry---4. If Jesus can curse a tree for not finding figs what is your standing before Him when He comes looking for fruit---5. Many claim to do the Law who are still oblivious of what the Law is all about.--6. The Law will get you cursed-there are no two ways about it-why because it does not produce the fruit that Jesus comes looking for in a sinner.--7. The law produces an appearance of true religion but without the fruit that pleases God. And so, what does Jesus do to such- He curses them-cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things written in the book of the Law to do them.

1. There are many who trust in themselves that they are good before God.--2. They look to themselves and judge themselves by themselves.--3. They even thank God for their own perceived goodness.--4. But Christ comes and says-these shall not be justified before God.--5. The tax collector had the prayer and testimony that pleased God.--6. What is your prayer- What is the content of your prayer- Is it the kind that Christ says sends you home justified---7. What does it mean to be justified anyway-

1. Many claim to know Christ who are NOT saved--2. They are ignorant of God's righteousness--3. So, they come and do things in the name of Christ and think that is salvation.--4. They establish their own righteousness but using the name of Christ.--5. But Christ shall come and say to them-depart from Me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you.--6. What was the problem with their gospel testimony-

1. The sovereign grace of God in the revelation of Christ in salvation. To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed- Sinners do not just come to God of their own will or choosing.--2. Christ despised and rejected of men--3. The spiritual condition of all men as the fallen and gone astray-none righteous.--4. The imputation of the sin of the elect to Christ--5. The suffering of Christ on account of that imputation-Christ made sin-Christ made guilty of the sins of His people--6. The labor of Christ in rendering payment for the sins of His people--7. The satisfaction that Christ rendered in the payment of all the sins of His people.--8. The exaltation of Christ in the wake of His finished work.--9. Without imputation, full substitution-representation and satisfaction by Christ there is no gospel. This is the heart of the matter and heart of the salvation equation.

1. The gospel cannot be the gospel without Christ being the surety of the Covenant of grace.--2. Grace is grace only because of the full surety of Christ on behalf of the elect--3. The surety takes the obligations-liabilities on behalf of all those that He represents and renders satisfaction to all that is required for their salvation.--4. Salvation by grace conditions salvation only on the work-obedience-payment of the surety.--5. The surety of Christ implies that the one represented is unable to meet the conditions of salvation by and in themselves.--6. Anyone who conditions salvation on anything on the sinner is saying that Christ was only a partial surety and grace is not grace but of works.--7. The covenant of grace is of grace alone because Christ alone is sufficient. Moses is not the surety of the elect, but Christ is. The covenant of grace is unconditional to the sinner, but was fully conditioned on Christ.--8. There is nothing that a sinner can do to be saved. Whatever a sinner does is because Christ has already met the conditions for them to be saved. Faith, repentance etc are all the works of God in the sinner on account of the finished work of Christ so that none would boast.

1. The disciples labored all night, but caught nothing--2. Jesus asked them and said, - Children, have you anything to eat----3. The disciples caught 153 fish at the Lord's command and the net was full, but it was not broken.--4. These were all preaching the gospel of God's free and sovereign grace.--5.
