COVID has created many changes in the college admission process.  However, building the college list can still be done with ease and focus.  Juniors, currently in high school, should begin this process now in order to find their best fit: academically, socially and financially.  

Today's high school students have learned to become more flexible due to the changes brought by a world-wide pandemic.  With two school years now being affected by COVID, some families are asking questions like: If college will be online this fall, is it still worth applying?  How does my child create a competitive resume now that their high school is all online?  Is heading off to college still a viable option?  In this podcast we will discuss if a Gap Program may be an alternative for your child.  What type of programs are out there?  How would a student benefit?  Can a gap still be done during a pandemic?  Find answers to these questions, as well as resources for programs to get started.

The Common Application has seven Personal Statements to choose from.  In May, an optional question was added under the "Additional Information" section.  Students can share, in 250 words or less, the effects COVID-19 had on them this past semester.  In this episode I interview Irene Frazier, essay coach and English teacher of 30 years, on how to address this essay, as well as tips for brainstorming and drafting personal statements for this college application.
