In Episode 56 of BEST HIRE EVER, Kris Dunn talks with Mike Fitzsimmons (CEO and founder of Crosschq) about all things related to QUALITY OF HIRE. The conversation centers around the link/correlation of some common hiring elements we naturally think are linked to great quality of hire – referrals, interviews, assessments and more.
Turns out, things aren't what we think they are.
Mike breaks down with the Crosschq research says about each of these big areas (spoiler alert – the link of each to quality of hire isn’t what we think it is) and then lays out the reality – that every organization is unique and must chart their own path related to components of quality of hire that matter most to their workforce and industry.

In Episode 54 of BEST HIRE EVER, Kris Dunn talks to Pillar CEO Mark Simpson on all things AI in the space of Talent Acquisition, including the following nuggets:
1. How COVID created critical mass related to remote interviewing that gave rise to a company like Pillar.hr.
2. Why the first job of any recruiting AI should be to give time back to the recruiter or hiring manager via automated interview summaries, making collection of interview feedback easier, etc.
3. Why the right AI can help a hiring manager understand when they are talking too much among other awareness items (can you guess what the target benchmark is for a hiring manager vs a candidate talking in an interview?) - a great piece of feedback almost no hiring manager gets today.
4. How AI can measure candidate sentiment in an interview (do they hate you? i kid... sort of), leading to helping the hiring manager get better at interviewing.
These are just a few of the things Mark and KD talked about. Take a listen and check out Pillar.ai when you get a chance. This is a tech company creating AI tools that really matter to TA and recruiting departments looking to get better.
