Mike Mulligan and David Haugh conducted the daily 5 at 5 segment, which began with a discussion about the Cubs' continued dismal performance on the road. After losing another road series -- this time to the Cardinals -- will anything but a sweep against the Brewers this weekend be acceptable for a team in an extended funk? Is this a funk or are the Cubs this bad on the road? Will they win the NL Central? The guys then discussed whether the Cubs' offense is now truly fixed after the additions of outfielder Nick Castellanos and utilityman Tony Kemp. What needs to change? The morning crew also debated whether White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease is making significant progress despite losing his starts and discussed whether the team should consider shutting third baseman Yoan Moncada down for the season if he experiences a setback when he returns from the injured list. Finally, the guys debated whether the uneven performance of Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in training camp is a result of growing pains, emblematic of a great defense or a cause for concern.
