Mike Mulligan and David Haugh conducted their daily "5 at 5" segment, which began with a discussion about whether Angels star outfielder Mike Trout deserves to be the highest-paid athlete in the world. Trout is finalizing a 12-year, $430-million deal that will keep him with the Angels through 2030. The guys then debated whether the Cubs or White Sox are potentially more affected by the Trout contract extension before sharing their level of concern regarding right-hander Yu Darvish, who left early in his start Tuesday because of a blister on his finger. The guys also discussed the level of surprise that MLB fans will have after finding out that the season officially started at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, as the A's took on the Mariners in Tokyo. They closed the segment by discussing how encouraged they were to learn that Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is working out with receivers Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Javon Wims in Los Angeles.
