Mike Mulligan and David Haugh conducted their daily "5 at 5" segment, which began with a discussion about Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts' comment that the team wasn't active in free agency because there's no more money in the baseball budget. The guys then shared their thoughts on the way Ricketts explained the racist and Islamophobic emails of his father, Joe, and had a discussion about White Sox manager Rick Renteria's comment that Yoan Moncada could open the season at third base. The morning crew also had a discussion about how the Blackhawks should move forward with goalie Corey Crawford before closing the segment with a conversation about whether the Bears should apply the franchise tag to safety Adrian Amos at $12 million, cornerback Bryce Callahan at $15 million or neither and try to work out a deal.
