Based on the Black Autumn series of novels by Jeff Kirkham and Jason Ross, the screenplay by co-writers Philip Abraham, Leah Bateman and Jason Ross is convoluted, disjointed, contrived and unimaginative. It's another post-apocalyptic film, but it's overloaded and leaves audiences cold. The characters are underplayed, there are too many subplots, too many conflicts, an inconsistent tone and barely enough focus. It also takes up at least 20 minutes too long. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was everything I hoped it would be for Shadow's big screen debut. From start to finish, I was grinning, cheering, and excited. It's a visual spectacle that delivers video game quality for longtime and new fans alike. Sonic 3 retains the endearing charm of its predecessor while growing with its audience, resulting in a more emotional and serious film that's still fun to watch today. Jim Carrey is as wild as ever (someone convince him to do more movies), and Keanu Reeves' Shadow stole the show. With these hints, the future looks bright for Team Sonic, so get excited. Kraven the Hunter packs a punch, the action is sparse but gory and gorgeous, and stands out from the crowd. Moreover, Kraven the Hunter is shaped by his intentions. J.C. Chandor plays with the silliness of a film like this by taking it completely seriously, but it gives the film a cheesy value because a certain sense of humor comes through because this kind of comic book story is told so seriously. There has never been a flawless Terrifier series, and this one is no exception on Afdah. My thoughts are already occupied by the previously revealed Terrifier 4, so it's obvious that the movie's purpose was to leave the audience wanting more by the end. That's how Terrifier 3 closes, and that's not exactly the right thing to have in this situation because, despite its brutality, the third act is quite unimpressive. Terrifier 3 is the best-directed Terrifier to date, amplifying the craziness of the previous movie. The third act introduces more existential concerns to the canonical mythology than it can satisfactorily address, all the while restraining itself from adding the fantasy aspects that rendered the prior installment bloated. utterly ugly and axe-splittingly funny in a terrible sense.
